From behind-the-scenes access to game-winning shots, the San Antonio Spurs are searching for a Manager of Social Media to bring fans and global social audiences closer to the action than ever before.

As Manager of Social Media, you’ll lead the day-to-day coverage and voice of the Spurs across social platforms, helping shape how the team shows up in sports and culture. You’ll be embedded with the team, including traveling for away games, attending practices, and player events. You’re in the room where the content happens!

You’ll oversee a pair of social media team members, set the game day and non-game day content plan, and coach your team on how to translate big moments into platform-native storytelling that entertains audiences everywhere. Along the way, you’ll collaborate closely with Content Studio, PR, Basketball Ops, Marketing, and Partnerships to balance organizational priorities with social-first creativity.

Success in this role means delivering creative formats that are build to perform; cultivating a consistent and authentic brand voice; providing clear direction and feedback for direct reports; and driving measurable growth in reach, engagement, and community impact.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead daily Spurs social coverage across game days, practices, team events, and away trips—traveling with the team to capture and publish timely, platform-native content that entertains audiences everywhere.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop social media staff, including an Associate Manager and Senior Coordinator, setting clear expectations, providing constructive feedback, and fostering growth in brand voice and execution quality.
  • Own the content calendar and publishing plan for game day and non-game day coverage, balancing organizational priorities with fan-first creativity.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Content Studio, PR, Basketball Operations, Marketing, and Partnerships to align storytelling with broader campaigns and ensure coverage elevates both players and organizational initiatives.
  • Monitor social performance and cultural trends, using insights to refine strategy, guide the team on what “good” social content looks like, and push the Spurs forward as one of the most engaging brands in sports and culture.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, digital media, or related field required.
  • Minimum 4+ years of professional experience managing social media channels for a brand, team, or media company, including 2+ years in a supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, publish, and measure content across multiple platforms, including short-form video and emerging channels.
  • Experience translating analytics and cultural trends into actionable insights.
  • Proficiency with publishing and analytics tools (e.g., Sprout, Emplifi, or similar) and basic creative tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar).
  • Must be available to travel for away games, attend practices, and cover community/team events.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Travel for league meetings, vendor summits, or road events, as needed.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods up to 8 or more hours.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time at a desk.
  • Lift and carry tech equipment or materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Use hands and fingers to operate equipment and computer systems.
  • Must be able to work in indoor and outdoor areas during events.
  • Tolerate noise, dust, heat, or cold, depending on the area and time of year.

In every position, each employee is expected to: demonstrate alignment with SS&E’s core values and mission, collaborate with internal/external community members and demonstrate ongoing development.

If you don’t have experience in every single bullet above, no sweat – we still want to hear from you and encourage you to apply!
