Event Security Lead (PT)

The Event Security Lead provides frontline leadership and operational oversight for Event Security Guard I and Event Security Guard II staff during events at Frost Bank Center and Toyota Field. This position is responsible for directing assigned security teams, supporting supervisors, monitoring staff performance and compliance, and serving as an escalation point for security, safety, guest, and operational concerns.
The Event Security Lead partners with Security Management, other departments, and external partners to address security incidents, manage risk, and support timely incident response. This position also supports security monitoring, access control, staff training, and consistent execution of department policies, procedures, and equipment standards.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide leadership and operational oversight to assigned Event Security Guard I and Event Security Guard II staff, ensuring appropriate staffing, deployment, communication, and execution of event security responsibilities.
- Direct and support Event Security Guard II supervisors in managing assigned teams, including providing guidance on staff performance, policy compliance, guest concerns, and operational decisions.
- Monitor staff performance and adherence to SS&E and department policies, provide coaching and corrective direction as appropriate, and escalate significant or recurring performance or conduct concerns to Security Management.
- Serve as a primary point of escalation for security, safety, guest, and operational issues, coordinating appropriate response efforts with Security Management, law enforcement, medical personnel, venue departments, or other partners as needed.
- Support the development, implementation, and consistent execution of security policies, procedures, standards, access-control practices, and incident-response protocols.
- Lead and support training for Event Security staff on department procedures and security equipment, including x-ray machines, magnetometers, handheld wands, and bag-search procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Security Management.
Who You Are:
- A minimum of 3 years supervisory, management and/or leadership experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Effective and efficient leadership skills requiring tact, diplomacy, and good judgment.
- Ability to achieve and maintain a State Security level II non-commissioned license.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions to include extreme heat, cold, and rain
- Must have knowledge and be physically able to demonstrate proficiency with all security equipment, such as walkthrough magnetometer, x-ray machines, and handheld wands.
- Must be able to work long hours, flexible hours including evenings, weekends, overnight and holidays.
- Must be able to work the minimum of 70% of events each month.
- Must possess the ability to meet dress standards. As a representative of Spurs Sports & Entertainment, dress standards are highly reflective of our brand.
- Must be able to work at both the Frost Bank Center and Toyota Field for all events assigned.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience providing leadership or work direction in a security, event, hospitality, military, law-enforcement, or similar operational environment.
- Entertainment or live-event industry experience.
- CPR Certification and/or Basic First Aid certification.
- Knowledge of law enforcement or experience in security, military, law enforcement, entertainment, or venue operations.
Physical Requirements
- Occasionally able to lift and carry 25 pounds or more.
- Constantly able to work outdoor events in hot, cold, wet, or windy conditions throughout the duration of an assigned shift.
- Occasionally able to ascend and descend multiple flights of stairs in arena and outdoor stadium environments.
- Constantly able to stand and/or walk for extended periods throughout an assigned shift.
- Occasionally able to bend and kneel to complete work.
