The Building Operations Lead is a supporting leader who has key responsibilities around the setup and execution of events at the arena, as well as projects and building organization. This individual will assist the Operations Management team with ensuring the arena is operational, ready for events, and takes an indirect supervisory role among the PT staff in the department. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends and unusual hours if necessary and bring good judgement and logic to an unpredictable environment.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Acts as a working supervisor for all arena setups for NBA games, concerts, and other events in the building. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, locker room setups, court build & maintenance, stage builds, concourse setups, chair sets, curtain setups, and more.
  • Assist Operations Management with auditing housekeeping by performing building walks and helping with administrative office work.
  • Supervise Part-Time staff in day-to-day responsibilities while helping management assign and delegate duties as it relates to event set-ups/breakdowns. Help train the Part-Time crew to operate efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively to internal departments such as Event Services and Housekeeping, for alignment during event preparation and streamlining the flow of information.
  • Responsible for keeping track of equipment inventory and is responsible for keeping all storage areas clean and organized.
  • Other duties as assigned

Who You Are:

  • Preferred experience in the Operations field to include basketball / concert experience
  • Have the leadership, organizational skills, and poise to efficiently lead a team of 10-20 employees through projects/events.
  • Show a complete understanding of all Operations routines and common setups, as well as showing problem-solving skills and good judgement when presented with new setups or responsibilities.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including overnights, evenings, weekends, holidays, and long hours in general. 
  • Must be proactive, with an ability to simultaneously balance and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Maintains a high degree of attention to prevent injury to others.
  • Must be reliable in attendance. Also must be dependable when needing to work independently and make judgement calls.
  • Possess the ability to adapt to last-minute changes and improvise to lead in unplanned situations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) is strongly preferred.

  • Ability to meet the physical demands of this job, which include being able to get in and
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of this job, which include being able to get in and around the facility (requires personal mobility), lifting (min. of 50-75lbs), carrying, moving, climbing, working from various heights, and moderate to loud noises.
  • Must have the ability to walk and stand for long periods of time and navigate through stairways in an area setting
