POSITION SUMMARY:

This position maintains the Mohegan Sun Arena facilities in an efficient and operational manner during events and on non-event days. This position also helps to control and monitor all Mohegan Sun Arena systems and serves as the Lead Ice Technician.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on all Mohegan Sun Arena systems including, but not limited to, building chillers and associated equipment, electrical components including some IT and audio/visual, plumbing, and all other building assets as needed
Maintains the Mohegan Sun Arena building structure, hardware, and various vehicles (i.e. Zamboni, forklifts, etc.)
Operates the Mohegan Sun Arena equipment including, but not limited to, forklift, hand tools, Zamboni ice resurfacer, power tools, pickup truck, etc.
Ensures that all equipment related to ice operations is operating correctly and maintained according to performance specifications
Ensures that all ice-related items are ordered and appropriately stocked (propane, blades, ice paint, etc.)
Operates Zamboni to resurface, build up, or cut down ice surface
Performs depth checks and ice surface maintenance as needed
Works with the Engineering Manager to oversee the hockey ice build
Works with Engineering Manager to oversee and performice buildup and cut down for specialty shows
As scheduled assists in operating the Mohegan Sun Arena during event and non-event modes as efficiently as possible
Assists with snow/grass removal as needed
Fully understands the technical operations of all equipment in the Mohegan Sun Arena including, but not limited to, scoreboards, lighting system, fire panel, intercom, and sound systems
Maintains and repairs building drywall finishes, structural floors, doors and locks, plumbing systems, and other structural elements
Provides assistance as needed to the Engineering Manager
Assists as needed in all areas of operations
Serves as Tech on Duty as scheduled
Performs other tasks as assigned
