POSITION: Part – time Kitchen Line Prep / Cook

REPORTS TO: Executive Chef

FLSA STATUS: Part Time Non-?Exempt

SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for a Part Time Kitchen Line Prep/Cook at the Pensacola Bay Center. The Kitchen Line Prep/Cook is responsible by performing the duties listed below.

Position Summary:

This is a hands-on position responsible for the production of hot and cold foods under the direction of the Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef and/or Lead Line Cook.

Position Responsibilities:

Assists in the preparation of cut vegetables, baked goods and cold sauces.

Maintains organized sanitary workstation at all times.

Properly labels and dates food items for storage.

Uses cutlery and kitchen machinery.

Minimizes waste by following established production techniques.

Follows approved recipes and production standards.

Ability to produce high quality food in a fast paced environment.

Must have the ability to follow recipes and perform basic math in order to calculate production demands.

Strong knowledge of sanitary practices with the ability to gain ServSafe Certification.

Positive, customer service oriented attitude at all times.

Strong knowledge of sanitary practices.

Maintains proper grooming and dress code standards.

Work ethic encourages strong urgency and quality in a team environment.

Preform all other work duties as assigned.

Work Contacts:

Daily contact with the Culinary Staff, Food & Beverage Director, Catering Sales Event Manager and all other staff and facility employees

Education and Work Experience:

Two years of experience in food service as a prep cook is highly preferred.

Working Conditions:

Kitchen Environment

Performing work through repetitive eye/hand coordination.

Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Daily lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. up to 5 minutes at a time.

Constant standing, walking, stooping. Constant reaching, handling products.

Must be able to work irregular hours including some nights and weekends based on facility event schedule.
