About The Role:

Seaport Entertainment is looking for an Accountant based in our New York office for our rapidly growing company. Reporting to the VP, Corporate Controller and as a key member of the accounting team, they will perform various accounting functions for the company, with a focus on our Corporate Segment.

What You Will Do

General Accounting:

o Support with day-to-day accounting operations.

o Analyze G&A expense accounts and prepare accrual journal entries as appropriate.

o Record and reconcile all payroll and benefits entries weekly.

o Manage end to end month end reconciliation and review process (Balance Sheets, P&L reviews, additional workpapers)

Bank and Cash Management:

o Ensure proper reconciliation of various bank accounts and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner.

o Post daily cash journal entries and ensure accuracy.

· Fixed Assets and Prepayments:

o Identify, record, and ensure the timely capitalization of fixed assets.

o Track prepayments and post amortization entries as needed.

· Collaboration and Process Improvement:

o Raise accounting issues and coordinate with the accounting team to drive consistency across processes and controls.

o Assist with SOX preparation and testing.

Audit and Reporting:

o Prepare quarter end 10Q/K supporting schedules and collaborate with various teams to consolidate data into footnote disclosures.

o Assist with audit requests by preparing necessary documentation and analysis.

o Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

o Handle other ad-hoc assignments as needed.

About You:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

· 3+ years of experience in an accounting or financial role preferred

· Knowledge of accounting procedures and principles with experience in supporting Accounting close processes.

· Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Dynamics or other equivalent ERP system.

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

· Highly organized with attention to detail

· Thrives in a fast-paced and collaborative environment

Compensation range: 75k – 100K plus bonus and benefits
