Professional women’s basketball is returning to Rip City. On September 18, 2024, the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) awarded Portland its 15th franchise, bringing the league back to the city for the first time in over two decades. Owned and operated by the Bhathal family through RAJ Sports, the team will make its official debut in 2026 at the Moda Center. THE ROLE:
The Account Manager, Membership Service role is responsible ensuring the long-term retention of Portland Fire season members and providing exceptional service, while also generating new revenue. Reporting directly to the Director of Membership Service, this role will take ownership of a book of business and build relationships with their accounts which improve member retention, while uncovering new sales opportunities through upgrade, add-on, cross-sell and referral opportunities.
The ideal candidate has a passion for customer service, is a proactive problem solver, who thrives in a competitive, result-oriented, fast-paced environment. They have previous customer service experience and a desire to grow both their career and the sport of basketball.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Serve as main point of contact for assigned accounts and generate new business through upselling, referrals, and cross-selling
- Sell a full menu of ticket products for the Portland Fire including, but not limited, to full and partial membership ticket packages, premium hospitality, and group outings
- Meet or exceed weekly, monthly, and annual individual performance goals
- Generate new business through a heavily referral-based sales approach including phone calls, email and text messages, and client appointments
- Build and maintain strong relationships through personalized communication, tailored experiences, and proactive engagement
- Support new member onboarding and ensure seamless integration into the Portland Fire Membership experience
- Assist in completing all ticketing agreements and collecting all monies due
- Accurately records all sales activity and client interactions within CRM system
- Work closely with the Ticket Operations department to ensure inventory integrity, and high levels of service for all customers
- Work evenings and weekends, as the need arises. All Portland Fire home games will be worked in various capacities including, but not limited to: client appointments, member service tables, and membership activations
- Always represent the Portland Fire in a professional and ethical manner
- Other related duties as assigned by the Director of Membership Service
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, experience in lieu of a degree acceptable
- Minimum of two (2) years of service experience in sports and/or the entertainment industry preferred, with experience in B2C and B2B sales
- Previous experience and comfort with driving revenue through referral-based selling
- Ticketmaster & Salesforce CRM system experience preferred
- Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Polished presentation skills, with an ability to think and react to situations confidently
- Understand the importance of working as a team and adhere to department guidelines
