Role Summary
The Director, Partner Marketing is responsible for leading and scaling OneTeam’s Player Association marketing partnerships with a particular focus on the USWNTPA, NWSLPA, WNBPA and MLBPA. This role owns post sale client management, executional excellence, and long-term success of OneTeam’s sponsorship, athlete marketing and event activations programs, ensuring best-in-class delivery for marketing partners while driving revenue growth and partner satisfaction.

This position serves as a senior leader within the Partner Marketing team, overseeing complex, multi-partner programs and guiding cross-functional collaboration across content, athlete relations, and sponsorship sales, as well as key activations for consumer products and games licensees. The Director will elevate partner relationships from day-to-day management to long-term strategic planning and renewals, while mentoring and supporting junior team members responsible for program execution.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in sports marketing and sponsorship activation, strong client leadership skills, and the ability to manage both client planning and high-level program oversight across multiple partnerships.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Marketing Partnership Strategy & Leadership
  • Serve as the senior point of accountability for partnership success (activation, contract fulfillment, account management renewal) across both PAs and Marketing Partners 
  • Develop and lead post-sale annual marketing partnership plans that align sponsor objectives with OneTeam and Player Association priorities
  • Partners with Sales Solutions and Sales Teams to identify new activation concepts and partnership opportunities that drive incremental revenue and deepen partner engagement
Partner & Client Leadership
  • Serve as a senior relationship lead for key brand partners, agencies, and Player Associations
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, ensuring that the brand feels their objectives are well-represented, while also balancing the needs of OneTeam and the Player Association partners we represent
  •  Lead partnership execution conversations with partners to align marketing objectives, campaign priorities, renewals and performance outcomes to PA and athlete assets
  • Partner with sales to spearhead the partnership renewal processes through strategic planning, program storytelling, and executive-level presentations
Program Oversight & Executional Excellence
  • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of sponsorship and athlete marketing programs, from post-sale activation development through execution, reporting, and optimization
  • Provide senior-level guidance on budgets, contracts, KPIs, and performance measurement
  • Ensure consistent quality, brand integrity, and compliance with Player Association and partner requirements
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Drive collaboration across content, athlete relations, consumer products, games, and licensing teams to deliver integrated partner programs
  • Serve as an internal expert on marketing partnership rights, activation capabilities, and Player Association nuances
  • Motivate and align internal stakeholders to deliver partner commitments on time and at a high standard
Reporting & Business Planning
  • Lead quarterly and annual business reviews for key marketing partners and Player Associations
  • Partner with finance and operations to ensure accurate tracking of budgets, performance metrics, invoicing and reporting
  • Advise senior leadership on partner performance, risks, and growth opportunities within the marketing partnerships portfolio
Leadership & Team Development
  • Provide direction, mentorship, and support to Senior Managers and Managers within Partner Marketing
  • Establish best practices for program management, partner service, and cross-functional workflows
  • Contribute to the development of scalable processes and tools to support team growth
  • Represent OneTeam at industry events, partner meetings, and activations as needed

Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 7–10+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, account management, brand consulting, or sports marketing / sponsorship activation
  • Strong understanding of group player rights and/or sports partnership structures
  • Proven ability to manage senior-level client relationships and engage effectively with executives
  • Comfortable managing complex relationships among multiple stakeholders
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation skills
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously
  • High level of organizational and project management capability
  • High degree of professionalism and the ability to interact with senior management and external stakeholders 
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Interest in and knowledge of sports and athlete-driven business models
  • Experience supporting or leading events and partner programs preferred

Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this role is $130,000 - $150,000 + bonus opportunity.
Final title, level, and salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

The above compensation reflects the anticipated salary range for this position based on Los Angeles, CA and current national data. Title and actual pay may be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Working Conditions 
This role involves computer-based work, including video conferencing and frequent written and verbal communication with internal teams, game developers, and external partners. Extended periods of sitting and screen time are expected. Semi-regular travel may be required to attend meetings, industry events, or partner visits, which may include standing, walking, or transporting light materials (e.g., laptops, promotional items). The position requires the ability to work across multiple time zones, manage concurrent projects under tight deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This role can be remote or based in an office setting, depending on organizational needs.
