Sponsorship Sales & Activation: Corporate Sponsor
Title: Director, National Sponsorship & Athlete Marketing
Department: Sponsorship & Athlete Marketing
Reports to: Vice President, Sponsorship & Athlete Marketing

Purpose: Director, National Sponsorship & Athlete Marketing is responsible for generating new business through the procurement of new sponsorship and athlete marketing opportunities with national brands. This role is responsible for selling integrated sponsorships that include but not limited to: athlete appearances, tent-pole events, and other assets owned by OneTeam Partners, creating large scale sponsorships between OneTeam and national brands as it relates to the represented players associations (e.g., NFLPA, MLBPA, WNBPA, MLSPA, USWNTPA) and their athletes. 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Prospect, research and close sponsorship and athlete marketing opportunities through cold-calling, appointments, networking, and other sales processes
  • Develop new business for OneTeam Partners through identifying and pursuing new and unique partnership opportunities
  • Conduct research, integrate data and analytics to identify categories and emerging trends for new sponsorship opportunities
  • Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing and prospective partners to ensure OneTeam Partners is meeting their needs 
  • Cross-sell partnership opportunities across sports, teams, and athletes 
  • Meet or exceed weekly/monthly sales and prospecting goals 
  • Work closely with Athlete Relations, Activation, Digital and Content teams to create a unique and valuable sponsorship opportunities for interested brands, and maximize revenue potential 
  • Maintain accurate records and detailed notes on all existing and prospective client relationships and interactions Director, National Sponsorship & Athlete Marketing through provided CRM, Salesforce
  • Provide team and manager with reports and information on existing and prospective sponsors, industry trends, and other relevant information 
  • Create a world class customer experience for all existing and prospective sponsors 
  • Build and maintain relationships at the team, league, and PA level to share and gather best practices and identify sponsorship opportunities 
  • Participate in various sales and networking events as needed 
  • Represent OneTeam Partners at industry events 
  • Stay on top of sales best-practices through participation in continuous training and education 
  • Assist in drafting company wide OKRs each quarter, update and lead the execution against relevant OKRs each quarter
  • Other projects and duties as assigned
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 10 years of successful, high level national sales and/or agency experience (sports experience preferred)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Persuasive presentation and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs and CRM’s
  • Strong strategic and creative “outside of the box” thinker as it pertains to developing marketing and activation campaigns for small, mid and large business partners
  • Strong client management and ability to manage across multiple projects
