THE ROLE

The Logistic Manager for the Olympic Games plays a pivotal role in the operational and logistical management of the competition venue. Under the supervision of the Venue Manager, he/she will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of logistics operations at the venue (or several) to ensure a smooth and efficient execution of the hospitality operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Dedicated to one competition venue (max. 2), the Logistic Manager is responsible for :

Operational Planning:

  • Develop a detailed operational plan for the competition venue, taking into consideration the specific requirements of each supplier or functional area.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure that logistical needs are incorporated into the overall hospitality operations planning.
  • Develop a detailed delivery schedule (Master Delivery Schedule) in coordination with relevant departments.
  • Ensure that deliveries are made on time and in accordance with quality standards.

Tracking on Site:

  • Manage all On Location items on the venue: accessories, screens, furniture, …
  • Ensure the maintenance and availability of these items throughout the event.

Venue Distribution:

  • Organize and oversee the distribution of equipments and supplies at the competition venue.
  • Ensure efficient allocation of resources according to the needs of each supplier or functional area.

Post-Event Material Return:

  • Plan and execute the process of returning equipment after the event's conclusion.
  • Coordinate the retrieval, storage, and maintenance of assets for future events.

Compliance with Delivery Rules:

  • Ensure compliance with Paris 2024 regulations related to deliveries.
  • Ensure compliance with Olympic standards and local regulations.

Storage:

  • Oversee the management of equipment, supplies, and items storage, adhering to safety and inventory management standards inside and outside the competition venue.

Essential Experience:

  • 3 years of experience in logistics management for sporting events or large-scale operations.
  • Strong planning and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and quickly resolve logistical issues.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Flexible working hours, including full availability during the duration of the Olympic Games.
  • Ability to coordinate operational teams composed of direct reports, multiple contractors and services suppliers in delivering high level hospitality programmes.
  • Experience in working in a multi-cultural organisation and with international stakeholders
