Position Summary:

The Vice President, Brand Strategy is a rare opportunity for a strategic marketing leader to make a meaningful impact on two iconic professional sports brands – the New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans. This critical role will lead Marketing and Game Experience efforts for both teams, driving bold brand strategies that fuel ticket sales, grow fan engagement, and deliver innovative, partner-friendly campaigns.

 

Reporting to the COO and serving as the lead of the VP leadership team, this role is ideal for a proven brand marketer and a strong leader who can inspire a high-performance culture while holding peers accountable to shared goals.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Oversee multiple functions within the brand department, including: marketing (traditional, digital, email), graphic design and creative services, special events, and game experience for both Saints and Pelicans.
  • Serve as the organization’s brand champion, setting the pace and the guidelines for how the brand’s are represented in the stadiums/arenas, retail, game elements, fan facing content, etc.
  • Serve as the peer leader of the Vice President group, fostering accountability, alignment, and collaboration across all business functions. Inspire peers to be better in every performance category.
  • Develop marketing plans and campaigns that support organizational business objectives while delivering against targeted fan growth and changing demographic landscapes
  • Work in conjunction with ticket sales and service to align products, benefits, and brand positioning to achieve annual ticket revenue goals
  • Collaborate with corporate partnerships department and leadership to achieve annual partnership revenue targets, including attending partner summits, events, strategy sessions, and sales presentations
  • Partner with consumer insights and analytics department to deepen the organization’s understanding of current and potential fans, and develop offerings that increase engagement and lifetime value
  • Create and oversee game experiences that are fan-first, uniquely New Orleans, and designed to provide our fans with the ultimate, best in class experience
  • Leverage fan feedback to continually build upon the in-venue experience from arrival to departure
  • Develop and oversee a special events strategy that strengthens the connection between the teams and the fans year-round

 

What you’ll bring: 

  • 15+ years of experience in a brand, strategy, or marketing role within the sports industry – experience working across multiple sports brands is highly preferred
  • 7+ years of experience leading and managing people across multiple functions within a larger department – design, traditional marketing, game experience, events, or similar
  • Passion for New Orleans sports and culture and a desire to contribute to the community
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with, lead, and influence others
  • Strong business acumen with a curiosity that invokes progress
  • Creative thinker that can oversee big picture visions, but has a meticulous attention to detail
  • Thoughtful people management skills and the ability to foster an environment where others can thrive and excel
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the NFL/NBA schedules and the events calendar of the Saints and Pelicans
