Position Summary
The New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans are seeking a highly motivated, proactive, and strategic Recruiter to lead full-cycle recruiting efforts across the organization and affiliated business operations. This role is intended to build and strengthen the organization’s in-house recruiting capabilities and reduce reliance on outside search firms and external recruiters. This is not a traditional “post and screen resumes” recruiting role. The ideal candidate must possess a strong sourcing and talent identification background, including the ability to proactively identify, engage, and recruit passive candidates through modern recruiting platforms, sourcing technologies, networking, and direct outreach strategies.
The successful candidate will operate with an agency-style recruiting mindset and must be comfortable proactively hunting for talent, building pipelines, developing market intelligence, and serving as a strategic recruiting partner to leadership and hiring managers.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Manage full-cycle recruiting efforts for exempt and non-exempt positions across the New Orleans Saints, New Orleans Pelicans, and affiliated business operations.
• Partner closely with hiring managers and organizational leadership to understand hiring needs, position requirements, succession considerations, and talent priorities.
• Proactively source and identify passive and active candidates using sourcing platforms, recruiting technologies, LinkedIn Recruiter, recruiting databases, networking, referrals, social media, and other sourcing strategies.
• Build and maintain pipelines of qualified talent for current and future hiring needs.
• Conduct targeted outreach campaigns and direct candidate engagement efforts.
• Utilize sourcing software, recruiting automation platforms, applicant tracking systems, and candidate relationship management tools effectively.
• Develop recruiting strategies designed to reduce reliance on outside recruiting firms and search agencies.
• Screen and evaluate candidate qualifications, experience, and organizational fit.
• Coordinate and manage interview processes and candidate communications throughout the recruiting lifecycle.
• Serve as a consultative recruiting partner to hiring managers by providing insight regarding talent availability, compensation trends, market conditions, and recruiting strategy.
• Assist with development of employer branding and talent attraction initiatives.
• Track recruiting metrics, pipeline activity, sourcing effectiveness, and hiring progress.
• Build and maintain relationships with universities, professional organizations, industry groups, and other external talent sources.
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion in handling sensitive organizational and candidate information.
• Support additional Human Resources initiatives and special projects as assigned.
What You’ll Bring:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of recruiting, executive search, talent acquisition, or agency recruiting experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience proactively sourcing and recruiting candidates rather than solely relying on inbound applicants.
• Strong familiarity with LinkedIn Recruiter, sourcing platforms, recruiting databases, Boolean search techniques, and modern recruiting technologies.
• Experience using sourcing automation platforms, applicant tracking systems, and candidate relationship management tools preferred.
• Strong ability to identify and engage passive candidates.
• Experience recruiting for professional, business operations, revenue generation, analytics, marketing, finance, and/or executive-level positions preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple searches and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
• High level of professionalism, discretion, judgment, and business acumen.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and recruiting technologies.
Preferred Characteristics:
• Self-starter with an aggressive and proactive recruiting mentality.
• Resourceful problem solver with strong sourcing instincts and curiosity.
• Comfortable conducting direct outreach to passive candidates and developing talent pipelines from scratch.
• Ability to operate with urgency while maintaining professionalism and sound judgment.
• Strong networking and relationship-building capabilities.
• Comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-paced professional sports and entertainment environment.
• Prior agency recruiting or executive search experience is strongly preferred.
