Position Summary:

The Executive Producer, Broadcast Production is responsible for leading the planning, creative development, and execution of all New Orleans Pelicans broadcast content. This includes live game broadcasts, pre-game and post-game shows, digital video integration, and special programming. The Executive Producer will serve as the primary liaison with league broadcasting partners, regional sports networks, and production vendors, ensuring high-quality, brand-consistent storytelling that engages fans and elevates the Pelicans brand across all platforms.

 

 

What you will be doing:

Broadcast Operations & Production

  • Oversee all aspects of Pelicans live game broadcasts, including creative direction, production values, and compliance with NBA broadcast standards.
  • Manage game-day production crews, producers, editors, on-air talent, and freelance staff.
  • Develop and maintain show rundowns, scripts, and production schedules to ensure seamless live broadcasts.

 

Creative Development

  • Lead the creation of compelling video features, opens, graphics packages, and storytelling segments to enhance the broadcast experience.
  • Work with internal departments (Marketing, Corporate Partnerships, Community Relations, Basketball Operations) to produce custom content for in-game, broadcast, and digital use.
  • Ensure consistent alignment with Pelicans brand voice, creative standards, and fan engagement strategy.

 

Leadership & Management

  • Recruit, train, and mentor production staff, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Manage vendor relationships, freelance talent, and external production resources.

 

Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Coordinate with NBA Broadcast Operations to ensure compliance with league broadcast requirements.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Partnerships to integrate sponsored elements into broadcasts while maintaining editorial integrity.

 

Innovation & Technology

  • Stay current with evolving broadcast technologies, production trends, and fan consumption habits.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate new broadcast tools, augmented reality/virtual graphics, and second-screen engagement into live programming.
  • Develop long-term strategies for enhancing the Pelicans’ broadcast presence across linear, OTT, and digital platforms.

 

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, Media Production, or related field required
  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in live sports broadcasting, including at least 3 years in a leadership/producer role
  • A strategic vision, creative leadership, and clear, effective communication that inspires a team and freelancers alike
  • Proven track record of managing live productions with high production values under tight deadlines
  • Strong storytelling skills, with ability to translate complex basketball content into engaging fan-friendly narratives
  • Knowledge of NBA broadcast operations, standards, and league relationships 
  • Proficiency in broadcast production equipment, editing software (Adobe Creative Suite, EVS, VizRT, etc.), and control room operations
  • Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in alignment with the NBA season schedule

Working Conditions

  • Position requires significant evening, weekend, and holiday work, aligned with Pelicans game schedule.
  • Office and arena-based role with occasional travel required.
