Who are we hiring?
The Senior Sports Therapist for the NY Rangers will drive innovative and holistic treatment techniques to facilitate the best possible support for our players. The role involves fully contributing to all the workings of an elite performance team as well as key responsibilities around reducing the risks of injuries for our athletes. This position will play a central role in bringing together the medical and strength and conditioning staff as we bridge the gap from bed-based athlete evaluations to functional work in the gym. The person in this role will build trust with our athletes through thorough assessments and tailored bespoke treatment plans throughout the season. The role holder will be responsible for leading the rehabilitation process in a systematic, holistic and objective way.

What will you do?

Provides expert assessment, treatment and injury preventive strategies to support all our athletes throughout the year,
Take a lead role in rehabilitation to ensure that the injured athlete has logical, systematic and holistic plans in place that are driven by objective markers
Coordinate all work with the Head Athletic Trainer and other members of the medical team to ensure we are working in a collaborative and efficient manner,
Collaborate with strength and conditioning staff to positively support and contribute in the development of player specific programs and daily team activation activities.
Communicate effectively with other performance team members to ensure open and clear pathways of information.
Collaborate with other key support services to ensure injured athletes are maximizing
Positively contribute to the daily workings of the medical team and help facilitate an excellent culture of planning, implementing and reviewing best practice
Contribute to home and away games and travel as per Head Athletic Trainers planning
Keep thorough and accurate medical records
Ability and passion to work in a systematic and objective manner, using good quality data to inform our decision-making processes
Strong organizational skills and a passion for establishing robust, logical processes in order to drive accountability and productivity

What do you need to succeed?

Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred
ATC and/or PT trained and qualified to work in the US
Minimum of 8+ years experience of working with elite athletes
Physically demanding position, including the ability to execute modalities and stretching
Proven record of working from treatment, movement assessment into corrective exercise prescription
Proven record of working in the rehabilitation setting and letting rehab cases from start to finish
Must possess excellent leadership and communication skills.
ABPTS certification
CSCS certification
