LEGENDS ATTRACTIONS

Global Attractions is the newest business vertical and is quickly expanding. Starting with One World Observatory sitting high above Manhattan at the top of the tallest building in the Western hemisphere and now expanding all over the world, the Attractions vertical brings together all of Legends 360-degree capabilities to develop unparalleled experience in one awe-inspiring space, featuring some of the most spectacular views and newest technology around the world. For each location, we operate the tour experience, ticket sales, hospitality offerings, special events, and sponsorship - all to elevate the guest experience at the top. Some of the venues include One World Observatory in NYC, OUE Skyspace in LA, The Observation Deck at CEB Tower, The View at the Shard in London, Sky View Observatory in Seattle, Skyrise Miami, and more.

ONE WORLD OBSERVATORY

Positioned at the top of One World Trade Center, the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, on levels 100, 101, and 102 – One World Observatory provides guests with unique, panoramic views of New York City, its most iconic sites, and surrounding waters from 1,250 feet. A customized guest experience complements the seemingly endless views - which evoke feelings of the City’s signature pride, hope and determination - including special interactive experiences and dining options, plus a sit-down restaurant.

In 2016, One World Observatory received awards and recognition from the Concierge Choice Awards (Winner: Tourist Attraction), Themed Entertainment Association (Thea Awards for Outstanding Achievement), TripAdvisor (Top U.S. Trending Summer Attraction), and Lonely Planet (Favorite Online Listing).

THE ROLE 

 The Server is responsible for fulfilling and exceeding guests’ expectations by providing friendly, attentive service to create an exceptional dining experience so that they will want to return again and again. The role reports to the Food & Beverage Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Greet, welcome, and make guests feel comfortable
  • Inform guests of specials and menu changes
  • Make recommendations that you genuinely feel our guests will enjoy
  • Answer questions about our food, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services
  • Provide information on wine characteristics, evaluate guests needs, make appropriate suggestions, and serve wine using proper wine service techniques
  • Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in our point-of-sale system which relays orders to the kitchen and bar
  • ID all guests when serving alcoholic beverages
  • Deliver F&B items from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely matter
  • Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment
  • Monitor and observe guests dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service
  • Respond promptly and courteously to any requests
  • Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, process credit card charges
  • Assist fellow servers as situations arise
  • Provide guidance to guests at One World Observatory including dining options and general New York City attraction information
  • Assist bussers with clearing and resetting tables
  • Quietly remove plates away from guests
  • Always be thankful to our guests for their patronage
  • Fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the manager on duty
  • Stand for extended periods of time and work flexible shifts (incl. morning, nights, weekends, holidays)
  • Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience as a server in the food and beverage industry
  • Excellent knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette
  • Extensive knowledge of wines
  • Ability to maintain the personal hygiene and a grooming appearance established by the organization
  • Ability to work independently or in a team during set-up and execution of service
  • Willingness and drive to exceed guest expectations
  • Ability to effectively listen and take direction from supervisor
  • Ability to read, speak and write in the English Language
  • Ability to transport up to 50 lbs. on a continuous basis
  • Ability to remove plates away from guests quietly
  • Ability to carry a tray of beverages long distances

COMPENSATION

$10.65/hour + a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401(k) plan.
