THE ROLE   

View Boston is looking to add talented, well-rounded interns to join our Sales Department for the 2024 Summer. As an Outside Sales Intern, you will assist our team with word-of-mouth sales & marketing techniques and hand out promotional ticket flyers. We are looking for students who are presently studying business or marketing, who are customer service-oriented, energetic, and self-motivated individuals who will be responsible for engaging with guests on a personal basis to promote the View Boston brand. This is a paid position that is open to current students and recent grads. This internship will run from May through August and reports directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist View Boston Sales team with prospecting and generating leads for View Boston through word-of-mouth sales & marketing techniques.
  • Greet guests as they enter your work territory, promoting View Boston services, including ticket packages, Open Table reservations and experiences.
  • Offer exclusive giveaways and promotions to guests of our products by handing out flyers.
  • Ability to perform and present information in a concise, legible manner to our guests – must be able to speak loudly and clearly and have a commanding presence.
  • Shadow experienced sales professionals in group sales bookings.
  • Learn about View Boston offerings and understand customer needs.
  • Provide sales team with support in various administrative tasks.
  • Collect and analyze data to evaluate sales performance through promotional flyers.
  • Gain hands-on experience in the field of sales and building transferable skills.
  • Assigned work post is outdoors.
  • Performs other duties as necessary or required by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Previous sales or marketing internship experiences, preferably outside sales.
  • Previous experience on a promotional sales street team preferred but not required.
  • High level of professionalism and customer service.
  • Degree in marketing, sales, business program preferred.
  • Excellent communicator, both verbal and written skills – multilingual a plus.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, energetic and outgoing personality with a creative, and a proactive approach to work.
  • Pre-existing knowledge of Boston history and familiarity with area landmarks preferred.
  •  Strong desire to learn along with professional drive.
  • Solid understanding of different sales and marketing techniques.
  •  Ability to work non-traditional hours including nights, weekends & holidays as necessary.
