THE ROLE   

The Field Team Supervisor will be responsible for supervising all activities within the View Boston Field Team associates and assisting with managing the day-to-day operations of the field team at several locations within Boston. This position is a seasonal position and reports directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist in managing the Field Team Associate Staff and occasionally perform special projects as requested.
  • Responsibilities include training and working with Field Team staff, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing guest complaints, resolving problems; lead role in emergency response situations.
  • Prepare daily line schedules for field team staff.
  • Attends weekly marketing & sales meeting at View Boston.
  • Ensure that proper procedures are followed including but not limited to maintenance of the ticket logs and accurately keeping all other financial/ticketing system records as required.
  • Ability to work and coordinate with internal departments including Sales and Marketing and Human Resources.
  • Ensure staff compliance with established guest experience, security, sales, and record keeping policies and procedures.
  • Inform staff of any changes in policy, procedure, and View Boston operations.
  • Greeting guests as they enter assigned areas.
  • Ensuring the safety of our guests in assigned areas.
  • Provide a high level of customer service by engaging guests, answering questions, resolving issues, and providing service to ensure a great experience.
  • Ability to retain learned knowledge and offer help to our guests by providing operational (Observatory lay-out, experience locations) answers to all inquiries.
  • Ability to perform and present information in a concise, legible manner to our guests.
  • Speak loudly and clearly and have a commanding presence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by View Boston management team.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in sales or marketing, preferably in an attraction, entertainment, or hospitality environment.
  • Previous experience on a promotional sales street team preferred but not required.
  • Degree in marketing, sales, theater or performing arts program preferred.
  • High level of demonstrated customer facing experience in a supervisory role.
  • Proven operational experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Must be organized and able to execute on the operations side of the business.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (word, excel, PowerPoint). POS ticketing systems a plus.
  • Quick learner with ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work well with and manage different personalities.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, energetic and outgoing personality with a creative, and a proactive approach to work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Boston market a plus.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, including, nights, weekends, holidays.
