Legends at The Rock at La Cantera is seeking to fill immediate Expeditor positions at the Roca & Martillo Restaurant.

The Role:

Communicate orders and information between the front of house and back of house while making sure that food is cooked in correct order, efficiently and presented correctly to the guest.

From Chef Jason Dady in partnership with the San Antonio Spurs, located at The Rock at La Cantera, Roca & Martillo is positioned to open as the most anticipated restaurant in San Antonio.  Chef Dady’s creative menu will showcase a harmonious fusion of traditional Tuscan flavors and the bold, vibrant tastes of South Texas, resulting in a uniquely unforgettable gastronomic journey.  The name of the restaurant is inspired by the San Antonio Spurs mantra of “Pounding the Rock” with a nod to “Rock and Hammer.”  Inspired by rich cultural heritage of San Antonio and the passion of its beloved basketball team.


Responsibilities:

•  Following assignments for opening and closing procedures and food preparation.
•  Setting the pace and flow of the kitchen to ensure that all dishes are properly prepared and served at the correct temperatures.
•  Responsible for safety standards, neatness and sanitation of work areas.
•  Monitoring the food portions on completed dishes according to restaurant standards.
•  Performing the finishing touches to completed dishes, such as adding garnishes and removing smudges.
•  Handling and cleaning kitchen equipment carefully and safely to prevent damage or injury.
•  Ensuring communication in the kitchen by calling out orders, getting the status on dishes, and calling the waitstaff to serve completed dishes.
•  Ensuring that proper food temperatures are maintained.
•  Communicating with food runners and coordinating accurate delivery of orders.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Preferred, one solid year experience working as an expeditor in a fast-paced restaurant.
• Strong attention to detail, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills; can effectively communicate and relate to all levels within the restaurant and service areas.
• Responds quickly and effectively to changing trends and circumstances, embraces change and adapts, and learns from past mistakes and adjusts accordingly.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Great organizational and leadership skills.
• Must be able to work extended hours due to business requirements including late nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to stand, sit, use of hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
