The Venue:
As a new addition in our fastest growing business vertical, Legends will be designing, building and operating Sky View Observatory (“SVO”), an innovative guest experience on the 73rd floor of the Columbia Center. SVO will set a new standard in the observatory experience in Seattle. Breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views including Mt. Rainier, Bellevue.

Job Overview:
The Event Sales Specialist will assist the Events Manager with the event sales strategy at Sky View Observatory. This role will be responsible for soliciting new business, developing and maintaining relationships with potential clients. Focusing specifically on growing the special events database to increase and maximize revenue. The Event Sales Specialist will also provide support on the detailing and planning of events.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Exceed monthly and yearly revenue targets set forth by the Events Manager.
  • Proactively solicit new business by, among other things, making sales calls, attending trade shows, and engaging in other client prospecting in order to increase the size of the organization’s client database.
  • Qualify leads, draft proposals and contracts.
  • Maintain the required amount of outbound sales calls set by the Events Manager.
  • Respond in a timely manner to calls, inquiries, and emails related to the position.
  • Prepare and provide required documents and reports for the Events Manager, including but not limited to event orders, invoices, revenue reports, prospect/tentative/turndown reports, and sales recaps.
  • Provide superior and professional customer service to clients.
  • Manage client-related issues in a calm, professional manner.
  • Work closely with Sky View Observatory staff and vendors to plan and execute client events.
  • Manage the events calendar and conduct site visits.
  • Send surveys and thank you cards to clients after each event.
  • May provide on-site support for event coordination.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:
  • Two or more years of related sales experience - preferably in Seattle-based special events.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience and/or training.
  • Resourceful, innovative and forward-thinking, with an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Working knowledge of local and regional markets, venue operations, and special events industries is a plus.
  • Ability to effectively evaluate risks and liabilities of special events.
  • Be adept at negotiating with clients when required within the guidelines set.
  • Excellent self-accountability for high personal standards of conduct and professionalism.
    Process-oriented, highly organized, fast and accurate, able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in spreadsheet, database, CRM and word processing programs.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as necessary.
