THE ROLE

The Café Associate is responsible for providing quick and efficient service to customers in a high-end grab-and-go experience. The role reports to the F&B Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Following all safety and sanitation standards, neatness, and organization of work areas
  • Following all company drink and food recipes and procedures to provide high quality and consistent service to guests
  • Ensuring that all guests are educated on products and service offerings
  • Answering guest questions regarding food and coffee blends, preparation, and product freshness
  • Greeting all guests with fast, friendly, personalized service
  • Providing excellent customer service to guests by being knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the café’s menu and products
  • Accurately processing sales orders into the POS system, informing guests of amount owed, and counting back change to customers in a courteous and friendly manner
  • Maintaining accurate cash count and balancing bank at end of shift
  • Preparing food items by complying with portion size, quality standards, departmental rules, policies and procedures
  • Ensuring that the correct closing procedures are followed: all areas of the café are to be left clean, tidy and secure, ready for the next day’s service
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Assisting with daily, weekly and monthly inventory—as needed
  • Assisting with station duties and performing other assigned duties/tasks assigned by leadership—as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE     

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma – or equivalent
  • At least 1 years’ experience, preferably in the Hospitality Industry
  • Basic knowledge of point-of-sale systems preferred

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette
  • Basic math skills
  • Excellent guest service skills and a natural willingness to consistently exceed guest expectations
  • Flexibility to work extended hours and varied shifts, including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to read, speak, and write in English to communicate effectively with management, co-workers, and guests
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment or independently as needed
  • Ability to effectively listen and take direction from a supervisor
  • Ability to be on your feet for extended periods, bend, squat, and lift/transport items weighing 10–30 pounds (occasionally up to 50 pounds)
  • Sufficient mobility to perform assigned production tasks, including constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods

COMPENSATION

$18.00/hour and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401(k) plan.
