THE ROLE

The Role is dynamic and interactive in nature, the Barback focuses on the guest experience and how the guest relates to the Observatory experience. This position plays an integral role in providing local, national, and international guests with a unique, memorable experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide bar supplies and provide the bartenders with items that help assure exceptional guest service specifically in the Restaurant environment - upon request
  • Stock bar items daily and filling the ice bins as needed
  • Anticipate needs throughout the shift
  • Assist in keeping all areas clean and organized
  • Know your work area and set up as instructed
  • Abide by the operating standards outlined in the policy and procedure manual
  • Ensure prompt, quality service is provided
  • Practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies and procedures and regulations, complete company-wide safety training and any additional job specific safety training
  • Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required from time to time by leadership

QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE     

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma – or equivalent
  • At least 1 years’ experience, preferably in the Hospitality Industry
  • Basic knowledge of point-of-sale systems preferred

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette
  • Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned production tasks including constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and transport items weighing 10-30 pounds (occasionally 50)
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast paced, team-orientated setting
  • Ability to read, speak, and write in the English Language
  • Ability to interact with co-workers in order to assure compliance with company service standards
  • Flexibility to work extended hours due to business requirements including late nights, weekends, and holidays as well as work all related events

COMPENSATION

$11.00/hour and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401(k) plan.
