ONE WORLD OBSERVATORY

Positioned at the top of One World Trade Center, the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, on levels 100, 101, and 102 – One World Observatory provides guests with unique, panoramic views of New York City, its most iconic sites, and surrounding waters from 1,250 feet. A customized guest experience complements the seemingly endless views - which evoke feelings of the City’s signature pride, hope and determination - including special interactive experiences and dining options, plus a sit-down restaurant.

THE ROLE   

The Account Executive, Group Sales will be responsible for managing and retaining designated group sales clients within the tourism and travel space. The primary focus of this role will be to provide dedicated service to assigned clients and to develop the current and continued business with One World Observatory. This includes upselling new and existing products to improve the client experience and cultivating referral leads.

This individual will also assist the group sales staff on a day to day basis by leading ongoing communications with our Guest Services team and fulfilling invoice and ticket requests as needed. Additionally, the Account Executive, Group Services will pro-actively assist in developing future programs that will benefit the Observatory’s long-term sales goals. The role reports to the Manager of Tourism & Trade Sales.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Achieve monthly & yearly ticket and revenue targets set forth by management
  • Provide superior service to current clients, partners, and prospects, including managing the booking process from lead generation to reservation, invoicing, payment, and ticket fulfillment
  • Retain and grow business through consistent communication by phone, face-to-face/virtual meetings, and e-mail
  • Develop client relationships to ensure long-term business
  • Generate new sales leads through self-prospecting, current client networks, and other company provided resources
  • Respond in a timely manner to calls, inquiries and emails
  • Maintain detailed and comprehensive records via venue’s designated CRM
  • Perform variety of responsibilities during group visits, other group events, etc. to support client needs or to promote venue’s products and services
  • Attend some networking events and possibly tradeshows or sales missions with management support

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • 1 to 2 years of professional work experience in attractions, sports, or entertainment with a group sales background is a plus
  • Committed to success with a desire to excel within a team environment
  • Able to demonstrate flexibility and quickly adapt to change while continuing to be productive and positive team member
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills — diplomatic, tactful, customer-focused with a professional phone manner and ability to interact with a variety of clients
  • Coachable and hardworking and willingness to work in a fast-paced and fun environment
  • Desire to grow a fruitful career in attractions, sports and entertainment
  • Experience with sales CRM is a plus
  • Bilingual a plus
COMPENSATION

$50,000 + commission; a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401(k) plan
