Nature of Work:

The Staff Accountant II is an integral part of the Media Accounting team and helps to ensure that the month-end close process is as efficient and effective as possible.   This position is responsible for calculating, posting, and recording financial transactions necessary to produce timely and accurate financial statements.  Additionally, the Staff Accountant II will provide support as necessary to the overall Media accounting team’s month-end process and ad hoc projects.

 

Examples of work performed:

  • Day-to-day general ledger accounting for multiple entities, as assigned
  • Prepare and analyze monthly journal entries and reports
  • Prepare and analyze monthly general ledger account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items timely
  • Assist in developing accounting policies and administer approved accounting procedures
  • Support the annual budget and audit process
  • Assist in preparing ad-hoc reporting
  • Work closely with and support operational departments as needed
  • Assist in reviewing coding of employee purchasing card transactions to ensure proper expense recognition
  • Assist the Senior Accounting Manager and Controller on various projects as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum
    1. High school diploma
    2. 2+ years professional experience within accounting field
    3. Working knowledge of accounting principles
    4. Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office software programs, with advanced Excel skill
    5. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire
  • Preferred
    1. Bachelor’s degree a plus
    2. Experience with Great Plains accounting software a plus

Compensation:

  • Base salary range $55,000-$65,000 per annum
