The Role:
The Denver Nuggets are actively seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Social Media Manager to join our dynamic team. This role demands a passionate individual with a deep love for basketball and an understanding of the fast-paced, high-pressure environment that comes with working in professional sports. The ideal candidate will possess a strategic mindset, creativity, and a proven ability to develop innovative social media campaigns that resonate with fans and elevate the Nuggets brand to new heights.
As Senior Social Media Manager, you will lead the team that serves as the voice of the franchise across all digital platforms, including Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and other emerging channels. You will be responsible for crafting compelling stories that capture the excitement of game days, behind-the-scenes moments, player stories, and community initiatives—transforming these narratives into engaging content that drives fan engagement and builds our community. Your work will involve closely analyzing social media trends and audience insights to continually refine our content strategy and ensure we stay ahead of the curve.
In this leadership role, you will manage and mentor a talented team of social media professionals, guiding them in their daily content creation, scheduling, and interactive fan engagement efforts. Collaboration with marketing, PR, sponsorships, ticket sales, youth basketball, community relations, and retail, among others will be vital to deliver cohesive and impactful campaigns.
Additionally, you'll play a key role in developing and executing comprehensive social media strategies for special events, playoffs, and season-long initiatives that help grow our fanbase, increase sponsorship opportunities, and solidify the Nuggets as a powerhouse both on and off the court. Your ability to analyze campaign performance metrics and adjust strategies accordingly will be essential in maximizing reach and engagement.
Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Content, you will be expected to bring innovative ideas, leadership, and a deep understanding of the basketball community to the table. Your work will contribute significantly to shaping the culture of Nuggets Nation and furthering our reputation as a premier NBA franchise.

Examples of work performed:
- Develop and Implement Social Media Strategy: Create comprehensive plans to increase brand awareness, fan engagement, and community growth across all digital platforms.
- Content Creation and Curation: Oversee the production of high-quality, engaging content including graphics, videos, highlights, behind-the-scenes footage, and fan-generated content.
- Brand Voice & Messaging: Maintain a consistent and authentic tone of voice across all platforms that aligns with the team’s identity, values, and branding guidelines.
- Fan Engagement: Actively monitor, respond to, and interact with fans, influencers, and followers to foster a vibrant online community.
- Performance Analysis & Reporting: Track, analyze, and report on social media metrics and campaigns to evaluate success and inform future strategies.
- Trend Monitoring & Innovation: Stay updated on social media trends, platform updates, and emerging technologies to ensure the team stays ahead of the curve.
- Campaign Planning & Execution: Design and execute special campaigns around key events such as games, playoffs, signings, community initiatives, and milestones.
- Collaboration with Internal Departments: Coordinate with marketing, sponsorships, ticketing, community relations, retail and more to ensure cohesive messaging and campaign execution.
- Content Scheduling & Management: Plan and maintain a content calendar to ensure a steady flow of relevant content aligned with team events and season calendar.
- Compliance & Legal Oversight: Ensure all content complies with league regulations, sponsorship agreements, and legal standards.
- Innovation & Experimentation: Test new social media features, formats, and tools to continually improve engagement and visibility.

Qualifications
- BS/BA degree in field or related field
- 6+ years of experience in content capture and social media publishing
- 4+ years of experience in managing a social media content team
- Experience in basketball, professional sports, and/or a major sports brand.
- Experience managing a team.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Experience in branded content strategy.
- Experience with all major social media platforms, including emerging channels.
- Experience and knowledge of reporting and management software and technologies.
- Experience tracking and reporting across social media platforms.
- Experience capturing and/or producing digital content.
- Experience working with content creators, producers, and publishers.

Compensation
- Base salary range: $75,000-$85,000
- Eligible for annual discretionary bonus
