Nature of Work:
This position is an integral part of the accounting team and helps to ensure that the month-end close process is efficient and effective as possible.  This position will assist in preparing statements in accordance with accounting guidelines to ensure accurate financial reporting and control, under the supervision of the Manager, Venue and Event Accounting.  Additionally, this position will provide expertise and knowledge of the Ticketmaster ticketing system. 
 
Examples of work performed:
  • Responsible for maintaining an integral role with the Booking Department on all external and internal event settlements.
  • Assists in the completion of per event flash reports and monthly closeout reports for events at Ball Arena, Paramount Theatre and Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
  • Handles expense management for vendor payments related to events for proper coding and timeliness of payments.
  • Manages cash relationships with outside promoters regarding advances, wires and ACH’s. 
  • Manage the reports from the Box Office to account for the daily deposits of ticketed events.
  • Manage the reports from the Ticketmaster ticketing system to account for weekly deposits for ticketed events.
  • Assist with night of show concert and other event accounting settlements.
  • Completes profit and loss flash reports for specific related events.
  • Prepare journal entries necessary to ensure accurate and timely financial reports.
  • Assists with coding and processing of expenses related to events, i.e. stagehands, security, police, medical, etc.
  • Works closely with Sports Accounting on Team related concessions, parking, expenses, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Minimum
    • BS/BA degree in Accounting
    • 5+ years Accounting experience. Concert experience a plus.
    • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Preferred
    • Experience in Microsoft Dynamics a plus, and proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office software programs, with advanced Excel skills.

  • Demonstrated accounting and finance knowledge and experience.
  • Excellent systems aptitude and strong analytical skills.
  • Excel at problem solving and detail oriented.
  • General ledger knowledge and financial analysis skills a must.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and adapt to changing environments
 
Compensation
  • Base salary range: $75,000 to $85,000 annually
