Nature of Work:

This position will participate as a critical member of the Kroenke Ranches’ Finance and Accounting department and support the larger group of affiliated ranches by filling a vital role in managing the monthly accounting close processes, completing various corporate accounting activities and the timely preparation of internal documents, analyses, and financial and operational information for internal management reporting. This position primary focus will be on Kroenke Ranches’ Oil Division. This position will support the affiliated ranching accounting and finance teams.

 

Examples of work performed:

  • Bank reconciliations for multiple companies.
  • Prepare and record monthly revenue and expense accruals.
  • Oversee cash receipts, payment application, and production reporting. 
  • Manage monthly JIB process.
  • Monthly update to the oil and gas property roll forward and cash call prepayment subledger.
  • Manage general ledger for multiple companies including routine journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Support with regulatory reporting including 1) royalty filings and payments, 2) personal property and production tax filings and payments and 3) other business tax filings, as necessary.
  • Work directly with senior leadership and team members from accounting, engineering, geology, land, and software to develop and implement KPI reporting 
  • Close books monthly and assist in preparation and consolidation of key data and information into monthly and quarterly management reports.
  • Assist with annual tax data gathering for outside tax preparers
  • Assist with various ranching general accounting, financial reporting, and special projects as required. 
  • Create other ad-hoc reports and assist with other tasks as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum
    1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA is a plus
    2. 10+ years of financial accounting experience
    3. Prior oil and gas accounting experience
    4. Experience compiling financial statements
    5. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
  • Preferred
    1. Public accounting experience
    2. Experience with Wolfepak

  • Understanding of accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls
  • Must be proficient in Word and Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills

Compensation:

  • Base salary range $155,000 to $165,000 per annum
