Nature of Work:
The Player Development Athletic Training intern will support Rapids 2 & Academy Athletic Training department in providing day-to-day sports medicine operations to Colorado Rapids players. In this capacity, the Player Development Athletic Training Intern will support provision of injury prevention strategies, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation for players’ medical problems.
Examples of work performed:
- Support Athletic Training Department in providing preventive care for players.
- Support Athletic Training Department in evaluating injuries, providing treatment, and developing/implementing rehabilitation programs.
- Support Athletic Training Department in maintaining accurate medical records of player injuries, treatment, and rehabilitation.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, professional, and welcoming training room.
- Assist in providing player hydration at training and games.
- Assist in managing sports medicine inventory and budgetary items.
- Prepare game sites for practice and competition.
- Prepare medical kits for team travel.
- Administer ImPACT concussion testing.
