Nature of Work:

The Video Editor will be responsible for editing (and occasionally shooting) video content for majorleaguefishing.com, MLF social media channels, advertorials, sales/marketing presentations and other digital platforms. This position requires proven experience in video editing, photo editing and light animation/graphic design, and the ability to meet tight deadlines in an extremely fast-paced environment.

 

Examples of work performed:

  • Apply high-level creative and journalistic production skills in editing digital video content for the Major League Fishing brands and channels. 
  • Assist in meeting aggressive video production goals as set by Vice President of Digital Media. 
  • Contribute new video content ideas for multiple digital platforms, including web and social. 
  • Repackage video content creatively and professionally so it’s compatible with mobile and social environments. 
  • Work closely with other members of the Digital Media team to understand the desired look and feel of Major League Fishing video products.
  • Work includes weekend responsibilities during MLF tournament seasons.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

  • Non- Typical work conditions.
  • Lift 50 lbs. daily.
  • Work in extreme weather conditions.
  • Working hours will fluctuate between early mornings, late nights and some weekends.
  • Some limited travel is possible.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum
    1. BS/BA degree in field or related field 
    2. 3-5 years’ experience in field.
    3. High-level Proficiency and experience with Adobe Premiere/Adobe Creative Cloud
    4. High level of attention to detail.
    5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    6. Ability to multitask, prioritize and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline environment.
    7. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
  • Preferred
    1. Knowledge of tournament bass fishing is helpful.
    2. Excellent videography skills including camera operation, audio and lighting.
    3. Experience with one of the following graphic software applications: Photoshop, Lightroom, or Illustrator
    4. Certification or additional degree
    5. Ability to acquire or produce and maintain a valid driver’s license and meet company vehicle driving standards.
