Nature of Work:

Assist with various department projects, including: operational audit procedures, record keeping for intercompany loan system, tax planning & preparation, and financial reporting system development.

 

Examples of work performed:

  • Help maintain accounting books & records including journal entry preparation, research, and compilation of financial reports
  • Prepare analyses and reconciliations
  • Support the preparation of operational audits & process reviews
  • Document findings & compile supporting documentation
  • Prepare supporting schedules for financial reports & tax returns
  • Execute other ad hoc projects as assigned
  • Provide administrative assistance

Qualifications:

  • Minimum
    1. Education Requirement – High school diploma or GED
    2. Education & Experience Equivalency – Pursing Accounting, Finance or related degree

 

Competencies/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to maintain positive attitude and demonstrate professionalism
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Good working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software skills
  • Ability to work independently & in a group setting
  • Willingness to learn
  • Applicants should be Accounting, Business, Finance, or Economics majors
  • All Colorado Interns are required to attend all KSE Internship Program hosted events that occur during business hours. If unable to attend due to work, school or unforeseen circumstance, the Intern must inform the Internship Program Committee via the RSVP form provided via email..
  • All Interns are required to participate in the KSE Mentorship Program by meeting with assigned Mentor in person or virtually at least for the initial meet-up.

 

Compensation:

  • Base hourly rate $18.29 per hour
