Nature of Work:

  • Stage Manager during all Denver Nuggets home games.
  • Assist in overseeing all aspects of the Mile High City Hype Squad promo team including scheduling, payroll, uniforms, practice, and any other issues that arise.
  • Responsible for coordinating rehearsal times and spaces for drumline and hype squad.
  • Responsible for all paperwork and administrative tasks associated with the onboarding of part-time and on-call employees and all communications with the Drum Line during the season. 
  • Performs administrative duties to include scheduling, payroll, coordinating meetings, preparation of staff manuals and handling guest relations and other department requests. 
  • Game night contact for specialty groups and guests.
  • Coordinates all credential and parking pass requests for the Nuggets GP department.
  • Ensures staff is properly outfitted (uniforms) for the season and works directly with the department head on any budgetary needs associated with uniforms.
  • Responsible for organizing and tracking all prizing inventory and ensure prizing is locked up and stored in an organized manner.
  • Assist with outside bookings and coordinate with booking departments and clients. Invoice after events.
  • Responsible for coordinating and managing the inventory and organization of all props, giveaway items and drum equipment and their storage areas.
  • Assists in Coordinating game day staff and monitors performance during home games. 
  • Assists in ensuring all sponsorship requirements are met including inventory, reviewing of scripts and execution of promotions. 
  • Assists in planning and organization of Nuggets media days including room assignments, content creation and player rotations.
  • Assists in video content creation throughout season.
  • Participate in creative discussions including departments outside of Game Presentation such as Marketing, Partnerships, Community Relations, and Youth Basketball. 
  • Work alongside game presentation team to create new ideas and bring new, relevant ideas to the table including new promotions, videos, and performances.
  • Works closely with the Nuggets Game Director in coordinating theme nights, introductions, and various entertainment elements.

Competencies/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional and courteous manner with internal and external clients.
  • Ability to coordinate and supervise game night staff and department interns.
  • Fundamental knowledge of live entertainment.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in sports or large event operations, scripting, entertainment, or promotions.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule to include events, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office software.

 

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

Requires lifting of boxes, carpets and promotional material up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand for long periods of time, sometimes up to eight hours a must. Must also be able to tolerate loud music, bright lights, pyrotechnics and flashes in an arena setting. Sometimes requires mobility across ice, court and field surfaces. Comfort with heights not required but encouraged.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Sports Administration, Broadcast, Communications or closely related field.
  • Must be 18 years or older.


Performance Requirements/Skills

  • Basic knowledge in hockey, lacrosse and game operations with the NHL and NLL. 
  • Comfortable in front of large crowds and comfortable communicating on headset.
  • Must be personable, enthusiastic and very outgoing.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects to different locations.
  • Desire to work in a professional sports environment.
  • Desire to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Interest in contributing creatively.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects to different locations.
  • Ability to ice skate is helpful, but not required. Skates will not be provided.

 

Compensation 

  • $20 per hour
