Position Summary 

The Rapids Digital department manages all digital assets for Colorado Rapids Soccer Club, one of the founding clubs in Major League Soccer. This includes ColoradoRapids.com, the team’s space within the MLS App, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and a share of the weekly email communication. The department acts as the primary news & information outlet for the club and their goal is to amplify the brand and ethos of the club 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The group’s goal is to tell the story of the club like nobody else can, focusing specifically on visual content.

As part of the Rapids Digital department, the Club Producer will generate video content for the club’s digital outlets, broadcast partners, in-game entertainment, & sponsors. This position will be heavily involved in the day-to-day video editing, shooting, producing and delivery to internal & external clients. 

 

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Shoot, edit, and produce video content and all-access coverage around the team.
  • Weekly coverage of training sessions, games, and off-field events
  • Lead producer on Elevate, the Rapids’ all-access series running exclusively on Apple TV
  • Creating content that deals with all forms of media, including video, photos, and motion graphics.
  • Work closely with the soccer operations team and club video team to find all-access moments that tell the story of the club and brings fans closer to the action.
  • Flexibility to shoot both short and long-form content, working in collaboration with the other video producers in the club’s digital department.
  • Creating visually appealing social media assets for big announcements, jersey unveils and other activations on and off the field.
  • Help capture all video content as needed – studio shoots, media availability, longform features, segments etc.
  • Consistent contributor of ideas and strategy during content meetings with members of the digital department

  • Basic knowledge of rules, culture and terminology of MLS and American soccer
  • Flexibility and a calm demeanor under the pressure of tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of the Colorado marketplace and media landscape, with an eye for the content our fans desire.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to away games throughout preseason, regular season, and playoffs.

 

 

Education/Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in broadcasting, production, or equivalence in content creation
  • 2+ years creating video content in a professional environment, preferably for a pro or NCAA team.
  • Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud programs, such as Premiere, After Effects, Animate, and Illustrator
  • Strong video editor with the ability to turn content on tight deadlines.
  • Strong proficiency of camera systems, including Canon, Sony and other brands of cinema cameras 
  • Up-to-date knowledge of social media landscape & video production techniques
  • Ability to strategize for videos in both standard and vertical formats (9x16 & 16x9)

 

Compensation 

  • Base Salary Range $62,500.10

Working Conditions & Physical Demands (typical) 

  • Normal office environment. Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching.  Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds.  Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment.  Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports.  Requires mobility sufficient to travel
