Nature of Work:
Colorado Rapids is looking for a multilingual individual to facilitate communication between non-native English speakers and other participants in the environment. In addition, this person will manage various aspects of 1st Team Operations.
 
Examples of work performed:
  • Facilitate effective communication for individual players with limited English proficiency, including:
    • Attend team trainings, meetings and matches to act as official interpreter for players who do not speak English fluently
    • Accompany them to Club events as needed, including media requests, player appearances, individual video sessions, treatment, or workouts
    • Translate written materials from other language into English or vice versa
  • Manages and oversees language tutors for players and staff, including the search, onboarding and payment for tutors and other resources
  • Assist with gathering and completing any immigration or league-related paperwork
  • Creation, maintenance and distribution of the following 1st Team information:
    • Annual Calendar (internal)
    • Monthly Calendar (for distribution)
    • 2 Week Schedules (for distribution)
    • Travel itineraries (for distribution)
    • Communication Platform (Teamworks) updates across all programs
  • Work with Director of Team Operations to ensure efficient operation of the 1st team’s daily environment (facility booking and setup, catering, communication, etc.) 
  • Coordinate logistics for all First-Team travel and events under the supervision of the Director of Team Operations:
    • Schedule flights
    • Hotel and meal accommodations
    • First Team players, technical staff and front office staff transportation
    • Per diem distribution
    • Credentials
    • Travel to all away matches to execute and confirm arrangements
  • Performance of match-day responsibilities for both home and away matches, including:
    • Digital Match Roster
    • Match Coordination Meeting
    • Timely departure from locker room before and throughout match
    • MLS Competition requirements
    • Manage player and technical staff ticket requests  
    • Prepare and deliver welcome package for visiting team
  • Assist the Director of Team Operations in the creation and management of the 1st Team Operations Budget
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Minimum
    • English speaker, with fluency in Spanish or Portuguese required. Proficiency in a third language preferred:
    • Minimum 1 year experience working with multi-cultural clientele
      • 1+ years’ experience as an interpreter/translator preferred
      • 1+ years’ experience within soccer industry preferred
    • Minimum 1 year experience in sport, operations, hospitality or related field
    • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
    • Driver’s License required for transportation of players to individual appointments and/or execution of tasks for team
    • Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software, specifically Word and Excel
  • Interest and experience in competitive sports environment, soccer preferred
  • General understanding of MLS (Major League Soccer) and team structures preferred
 
Compensation
  • $70,000 annually
