Cal ticket sales team is Learfield IMG College’s local, dedicated entity representing Cal. In complete collaboration with the university, this team is committed through first class professionalism to building top notch customer sales and service relationships extending the affinity of the Golden Bear brand to fans, donors, alumni, businesses and corporations of all sizes looking to align with the undeniably loyal and passionate collegiate sports fan base. As the exclusive outbound arm for Cal, the ticket sales team manages many of the sales efforts for ticketed sports. As a member of the team, we provide fans, partners, businesses, and constituents of Cal with the outreach and access to all ticket types, including season, partial, and group tickets, and ultimately providing experiences to grow involvement and revenue generation across the board while integrating fully within the department and the community.

 

Learfield IMG College is actively seeking an Account Executive – Ticket Sales and Service to work from Berkeley, CA for the Cal Ticket Sales team. Our highly valued Account Executives are a critical piece of our puzzle! Without their contributions, the property could not deliver on its commitments. We are looking for an experienced and well-organized Account Executive to provide the necessary support to the ticket sales team. The goal is to facilitate the school’s outreach and revenue generation to maximize and help the university grow in attendance and revenue. Responsibilities:

  • Ability to sell a “full-menu” of products – Full Season Tickets, Mini Plans, and Group Tickets for 6 sports throughout the course of the year.
  • Identify cross-selling and upsell opportunities with prospective customers and current stakeholders.
  • Network, connect, and build relationship with communities surrounding Berkeley/East Bay to create, plan, and execute memorable experiences through group sales related theme nights (current and new).
  • Meet and exceed weekly, monthly and annual sales goals.
  • Meet and exceed daily outbound activities of 100 per day through outbound telephone calls, emails, and other communication platforms.
  • Execute fan experiences related to ticket sales on game-day.
  • Build relationships with prospective buyers and current stakeholders.
  • Establish rapport and build business relationships with UC Berkeley campus student clubs and organizations.
  • Uphold the sales and service mandates of the department by working in conjunction with Intercollegiate Athletics units as well as UC Berkeley campus departments.
  • Availability to work around a year-round schedule, including nights, weekends, and occasional holidays during Cal Athletics home matches.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a focus on business management, sports management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 months of sales experience preferred, preferably within the sports and entertainment industry.
  • Exemplary social skills and telephone etiquette; Assertive, confident, persistent, and results-oriented approach to selling.
  • Strong sense of competitiveness, self-motivation, and a winning attitude.
  • Sound communication and persuasive presentation skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and execute projects to completion.
  • Desire and willingness to learn, yet open to feedback and constructive criticism.
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable rules and standards of the Pacific-12 Conference, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), as well as other associations and agencies to which the Berkeley campus of the University of California adheres.
