Job Summary: 
The Broadcast Operations Coordinator will assist the Broadcast Operations Manager in coordinating with event mangers, broadcast operations personnel and in-house production staffing to help with all logistical operations of Live events for Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Pistons, Detroit Tigers, Little Caesars Arena private events and 313 Presents.

Process broadcast requests, gather all required documentation, generate invoices, purchase orders and provide weekly payroll services for all in-venue productions and broadcast personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Broadcast Operations Manager with contacting, confirming, scheduling and booking logistics for the successful production of any assigned project. Generates scheduling documents, distributes crew confirmations and provides all necessary materials required by the crew. Assists the Broadcast Operations Manager by working with security and Public Relations to generate credentials for crew members.  On site for crew calls.
  • Assist with onboarding part time crew members with HR.
  • Work with outside broadcasts on hiring crews, rent all necessary equipment and arrange for all facility requests for various productions as well as processing invoices.
  • Scheduling, managing and handling payroll of all positions for in-house production,  Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Tigers and Detroit Pistons games.  Payroll to be completed every Monday for Friday payouts.  Weekly billing cycle is Sunday to Saturday.  Also responsible for distributing payroll inquiry forms to HR and Finance Departments for missed payments.
  • Responsible for billing and invoicing for the Entertainment Services and Broadcasting department.  Coordination with Finance Department.
  • Coordinates with Finance Department to bill back internal stakeholders for labor costs via rate cards.  Generates projections and actuals both prior and post event.  Guarantees completion of all rate cards by agreed upon deadline.
  • Assist with the hiring and payroll of part time crew positions for events at Little Caesars Arena, Pine Knob Music Theatre and Comerica Park.
  • Work as a liaison with outside broadcast and vendor to help with logistics, credential requests, parking, crew meals, etc.
  • Complete and/or process all Independent Contractor Agreements, PO's, Certificates of Insurance, vendor contracts, W9's, etc. and ensure all necessary paperwork is complete and handle the processing of invoices.
  • Input Payroll for over 135 part time employees.
  • Provide our security team broadcast crew lists for every event.
  • Assisting in the generation of accurate production books containing the specific information and requirements of each project to be sent to producer, crew, key staff members.
  • Coordinate with each department to arrange/secure on-site requirements to include but not limited to: credentials, parking, carts, internet, etc.
  • Assist with the coordination and tracking of all shipping pertaining to production equipment moving to, from or between production locations.
  • Assist with uniform distribution and inventory.
  • Coordination of private events, including planning and execution for internal and external events.
  • Coordinate any/all department A/V Request for multiple venues.
  • Performs several other duties as assigned.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or related experience.
  • Two years of work experience preferably TV production.
  • Knowledge of broadcast technical operations.
  • Strong accounting skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel or equivalent Windows based software
  • Must be able to multi-task and maintain organized files outlining each stage of the coordination of a project.
  • Must meet all deadlines and work well in advance of a project as well as handle all last minute requests fully.
  • Strong Interpersonal and communication skills a must.
  • Work schedule will include evenings, weekends and holidays.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and abilities:

  • Experience working in the sports and entertainment industry.
  • Accounting background.

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to moderate noise level.
  • Able to stand for long hours at a time with lot of walking around venues.
  • Frequent visual/auditory attention.
