Job Function: To coordinate a risk-free, safe, and secure environment on each shift through the monitoring of safety and security systems used at the venue command center. The dispatching of personnel, maintaining of accurate logs, checklists, etc. all contribute to the effectiveness of the staff and are required job functions for the part-time event dispatcher staff.  The event dispatch is the nucleus of safety and security operations for all Olympia Entertainment events.  The entire staff is dependent on the accuracy of information and the monitoring of all safety and security systems that dispatch is responsible for.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the command center personnel and other security personnel to ensure the security and safety of all Little Caesars’ Arena and venue employees, guests, and patrons.
  • Proactively monitor (audibly patrol) various radio channels throughout an event.
  • Maintain an accurate record of start/stop times of all activities through IMS; contact the proper personnel in the event of emergency or unusual events/calls. Record various incidents/work orders with additional software.
  • Dispatch Security and Safety staff in a professional, timely, and efficient manner.
  • Create Work Orders for building related items.
  • Manage Event Text Assist module during event.
  • Be fully knowledgeable in all emergency plans to ensure proper dispatching of personnel.
  • Ensure that all special details/executive details that are assigned to the department are coordinated and completed properly.
  • Assist full-time employees in monitoring various issues.  

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Possess a high school diploma
  • May not have been charged or convicted of any misdemeanor or felony
  • Comfortable dispatching over an 800 MHz radio system during stressful situations
  • Proficient at multi-tasking
  • Computer literate

Desired Experience:

  • 1 year of public safety (police, fire, and/or medical), guest experience, or security experience.
  • Previous dispatching experience (event-related or law enforcement preferred).
  • Previous experience with incident management and/or work order software.
