Job Summary:
The Corporate Partnerships Affiliate Sales Manager will be responsible for assisting in selling of all advertising television affiliate inventory and major sponsorships across multiple properties/platforms to the corporate sector. Inventory and sponsorships include all signage, media, print, promotions and merchandising. Also responsible for the overall management of several existing corporate partnerships including the development of new revenue opportunities, creating value added opportunities and mutually beneficial market activation program. The Affiliate Sales Manager will also serve as the main point of contact with the Broadcast Affiliates responsible for selling Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers television inventory that air on Detroit SportsNet Affiliates.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage OTA Affiliate sales across the Broadcast territory for both TV and Radio revenue of $500,000
Responsible for building national plans and working with Corporate Partnerships to ensure traffic and invoicing is completed accurately
Manage TV inventory in terms of availability, fulfillment and reporting
Coordinate all sales activities associated with TV inventory
Join meetings & calls with CP Team when discussing Media/TV
Work with Radio Manager to develop complete strategy and plans for media assets
Use ratings, qualitative and market trend data to negotiate program ratings and advertising rates with advertising agencies to maximize revenue
Serve as liaison to TV/Radio Station Partner for all fulfillment, graphic, and hospitality needs
Coordinate with Broadcast department all graphic and content needs for broadcast production
Develop and present new inventory ideas regarding digital/social TV activation
Coordinate the Corporate Sales team and Marketing staff on all contractual obligations relating to in‑ and out‑of‑arena programs to fulfill media agreement obligations
Troubleshoot challenges or issues that arise as it pertains to TV broadcast
Work with Finance department to develop media invoicing
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree required; bachelor’s degree in business or sports management preferred.
Minimum of 4 years of Sales experience required.
Proven track record of sponsorship sales and handling multiple accounts with sales exceeding $2M is required.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, written and presentation skills required
Ability to work long hours, evenings, weekends and holidays
Self-motivated team player with a proven ability to work with aggressive individual and team sales goals
Superior knowledge regarding the practices and principles related to the sale and implementation of television and radio advertising
Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with corporate clients and co-workers
Possess superior negotiation skills coupled with a net profit bottom line mentality
Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel and Lotus Notes
Ability to drive to and from client sales meetings
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Sports and entertainment advertising/sponsorship sales strongly preferred.
Managerial and supervisory experience preferred.
Working Conditions:
Office Environment.
Irregular and extended hours include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Exposure to moderate - high noise level.
Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
Frequent visual/auditory attention.
