The Comerica Park Rides and Interactives staff delivers premium service to fans in a friendly, pleasant and professional manner at the rides (Carousel and Ferris Wheel) and interactive games (speed pitch, t-ball and batting cage). They provide fans with a clean and safe ballpark environment, along with an excellent guest experience. This is a seasonal part-time position. 
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rides and Interactive colleagues are assigned to a specific ride or interactive for each game and maintain proper ballpark standards of guest experience and safety in a fun, family friendly environment.
  • Follow all guidelines applicable to operating the rides and interactive games ensuring they are in safe operating conditions and reporting any issues that arise during a game right away.
  • Responsible for checking in and out all necessary equipment each day in the state it was received in.
  • Operate the rides and interactives while continually enforcing the policies of the ride or interactive to ensure safety and enjoyment.
  • Assist fans as they get on and off the rides.
  • Responsible for notifying supervisor/manager if any equipment is damaged or malfunctioning.
  • Interact with guests to help promote the ride or interactive.
  • Check ticket(s) to ensure it is the appropriate ticket for the ride or interactive and explain policy and procedures for the ride or game to each guest. 
  • Directing guests on where to purchase ticket(s) for the rides and interactives.
  • Greet guests as they approach you and give them a proper salutation after they are done with the ride or interactive.
  • Constantly monitor assigned area for cleanliness and safety, addressing concerns with supervisor/management.
  • Proactively address guest needs by answering questions, giving directions and other information regarding the ballpark and surrounding areas in a timely manner. Never avoiding a guest or leaving a question unanswered.
  • Responds to and resolve guests’ questions, concerns, complaints or suggestions in a professional and polite manner. Recognize and respond effectively in emergency situations.
  • Maintains professional use of radio etiquette for communication during games and events.
  • Provides an exceptional ballpark experience for all guests and colleagues at Comerica Park.
  • Enforce policies, rules and regulations of the ballpark.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and provide excellent customer service, strong communication skills to proactively engage with guests, colleagues and management while always maintaining a positive and friendly attitude.
  • Strong observational skills to proactively identify guest needs and ensure that guests are having a memorable experience. Must be attentive to guest's needs, have full knowledge of all policies, services, and facility locations. (Staff will be trained in these areas)
  • Ability to learn operation of rides and interactives.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and be exposed to different types of weather (sometimes extreme weather). Must be able to work long hours, days, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to report to work 2 - 3 hours prior to game time. Rides and Interactive staff works on average, 5 – 7 hours per event. Hours are dependent on the length of the baseball game, weather delays, extra innings, etc.
  • Must be able to work at least 35 games per season.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Candidates must be 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to satisfactory complete a criminal history Background check.
