Job Summary:

The Mental Performance Associate is a member of a growing department within Player Development, responsible for assisting in the administration of a prolific Mental Performance program for Tiger players and staff at our baseball academy in the Dominican Republic.

The Mental Performance Associate assists with providing instruction to players, supports Mental Performance staff, and completes additional duties as needs arise. The Associate maintains collaborative relationships within the department as well as with all baseball and performance disciplines within Player Development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Mental Performance coaches and coordinators prepare and execute effective mental enhancement instruction to players. (20%)
  • Assume ownership of assigned tasks from initiation to completion. Regularly communicate progress. (30%)
  • Grow and maintain strong, trusting relationships with all players. (15%)
  • Intentionally allocate time and energy to understanding the complexities of the professional baseball environment and effective, ethical mental performance services. (15%)
  • Communicate pertinent player matters with the appropriate members of Mental Performance on a daily basis. (10%).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with baseball coaches, staff, and operations groups. (10%)
  • Create a positive sum environment on a daily basis. Utilize initiative and ownership to be the change that is required. Be an energy provider to everyone encountered.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Master’s degree in Sport Psychology or highly similar field. Candidates with degrees near completion will be considered.
  • Fluent in Spanish.
  • Must be able to demonstrate skills requisite for the position.
  • Valid Passport.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in collegiate or professional baseball.
  • Certified Mental Performance Coach (CMPC) or working toward.

Working Conditions:

  • Will work a significant portion of time outdoors in warm conditions.
  • Should expect to work weekends, evenings (at times), and to provide availability to players outside normal working hours.
  • Will work primarily out of Dominican Republic Academy facility (90-100%).
  • Position start date is February 1st, 2026
  • Position end date is September 15th, 2026
