Job Summary:
The position is responsible for implementing and monitoring preventative maintenance tasks on all electrical systems, lighting, sports lighting and routine electrical repair for Comerica Park. This is an hourly position with benefits as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement between IBEW Local 58 and the Detroit Tigers, Inc. and is not limited to working days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain relationships with DTE representatives.
• Install, maintain and repair all electrical systems.
• Ensure all electrical systems including repair and/or construction electrical work is completed in accordance with National Electric Code, State and Local code and compliance requirements.
• Determine root causes of any electrical failures and make decisions on how to repair the malfunction using appropriate tools.
• Determine and perform routine maintenance on specific electric equipment. Conduct tests and inspections of equipment and services for evaluation of electrical systems/equipment performance.
• Inspect electrical equipment, and locate and correct problems before breakdown occurs.
• Facilitate electrical requirements for all events (i.e. tours, concerts, broadcasting etc.) Install temporary “event’ service requirements ensuring compliance with regulatory codes.
• Install, modify, repair, load and test electrical lines, circuits, systems, equipment, emergency generators.
• Assist in developing standard operating procedures.
• Coordinate any connecting, disconnecting, paralleling or substituting to electrical distribution equipment system to avoid damage, danger and unnecessary interruption of service.
• Maintain a safe work environment; ensuring staff is well informed on event schedule and work orders. Report irregularities, discrepancies, damage, and loss of property and safety concerns promptly following reporting procedures.
• Utilize maintenance software system to interpret and prioritize work orders and preventative maintenance. Execute work orders and PM schedules to ensure event needs are met in a timely and accurate manner.
• Other duties as determined by supervisor.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Journeyman Electrician License and 5 years of electrician experience.
• Thorough knowledge of National Electrical Codes (NEC) and D.C.
• Familiar with general facility maintenance.
• Excellent diagnostic skills.
• Computer skill and the ability to operate facility lighting control system with personal computer.
• Ability to read, write and understand complex direction.
• Ability to read and decipher blue prints, schematics and working equipment documents.
• Good understanding of mechanical equipment, monitor tv broadcast that are connected to backup power, ability to connect to tv broadcast trucks.
• Effective communicator, both written and verbal. Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Work effectively under pressure to meet business deadlines. Adaptable through change.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, contractors and facility users.
• Ability to be on call 24/7.Certification to operate forklift and man lift preferred.

Working Conditions:
• Irregular and extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Exposure to high noise level.
• Frequent visual/auditory attention.
• While performing the duties of this job, the colleague is regularly exposed to a facility environment, outside weather conditions, extreme cold/heat, chemicals, electricity, moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places; and fumes or airborne particles. Required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The colleague frequently is required to sit. The colleague is occasionally required to climb high levels or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The colleague must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Requires long periods of time on feet.
