Job Summary:
The Detroit Red Wings are seeking two (2) Seasonal Game Presentation Assistants to play a hands-on role in the ideation, planning, and execution of live entertainment and fan engagement elements for the 2025–26 Centennial Season — one of the most significant years in franchise history.
This role offers an opportunity to directly contribute to the in-arena experience by supporting production elements and live stage operations across all home games and select external events. The ideal candidates will bring energy, creativity, and attention to detail, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
This season marks 100 years of Red Wings hockey, and these assistants will help deliver a historic, industry-leading entertainment product for one of the NHL’s Original Six teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as game night Stage Manager, coordinating entertainment and fan experience elements from pre-game through post-game, ensuring all activations run smoothly and on time.
• Assist in the execution of Centennial Season-specific initiatives, including specialty performances, logo rollouts, historical integrations, and once-in-a-century fan experiences.
• Support entertainment teams such as the Red Patrol, Carhartt Ice Crew, and the Red Wings Original Stix Drumline during auditions, rehearsals and live performances.
• Help plan and activate theme nights, giveaways, and on-ice/in-bowl contests — bringing ideas to life through scripting, logistics, and on-site support.
• Liaise with per-game talent including the DJ, national anthem performers, organist, and other special guests.
• Manage backend elements such as props, signage, cue cards, and in-game equipment to ensure proper staging and execution.
• Assist with the administration and tracking of in-game programs, including the Chevrolet Salute to Service and Detroit Red Wings Foundation messages.
• Contribute creative ideas for in-game features, fan interactions, and activations that align with the Centennial storytelling and brand elevation.
• Collaborate across departments including Marketing, Community Relations, Foundation, and Hockey Operations to support coordinated efforts.
• Support secondary events throughout the season, including community activations, viewing parties, college games, and more.
• Take part in all other duties as assigned to support the Game Presentation team’s overall success.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Working toward a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sports Management, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Previous experience in sports, live entertainment, or event operations is a strong plus.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and problem-solve under pressure.
• Demonstrated initiative, creativity, and communication skills — both verbal and written.
• Willingness and availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours as needed.
• Comfortable working in high-energy, high-volume live event environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with the NHL, Detroit Red Wings brand, or live sports production.
• A passion for delivering memorable fan experiences.
• Interest in storytelling, show flow, or live event production.
Working Conditions:
• Frequent use of visual and auditory focus.
• Exposure to high noise levels and large crowds.
• Variable hours, including late nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical work including lifting, carrying, and navigating arena spaces.
