Description
Columbus NWSL 2028 is looking for an innovative and strategic Content Manager to help build and grow the NWSL’s 18th team. This all-in-one creator will play a key role in the marketing, social media, design and content creation of the team ahead of and during the inaugural season. This ideal candidate is a highly collaborative, hands-on leader and teammate who is comfortable owning the full process from ideation to execution and is experienced in creating and publishing at the highest level. This position sits on the marketing team and directly reports to the Vice President, Marketing & Brand Strategy. Please note as the Columbus NWSL Marketing Department grows, the reporting structure is likely to change. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 
  • Support the development and execution of the team’s social media and content strategy, that is aligned with brand and campaign objectives, across all Columbus NWSL platforms.
  • Ideate, plan, shoot and edit photo content as the primary visual output for all social channels.
  • Capture, edit and post vertical video content, leveraging creative design tools such as Slate.
  • Ability to edit and create graphics within brand templates to support the graphic design team for social and digital asset creation.
  • Support the management and execution of the day-day content calendar, including posting and real-time coverage of events, matches, etc. as needed.
  • Assist in the creation, editing and programming of content for Columbus NWSL’s website, mobile app, email, sms and other emerging platforms. 
  • Serve and the main project manager, owning all workflows, for content and creative request submissions on behalf of the larger group.
  • Key support role in all Columbus NWSL marketing efforts.
  • Ensure all content complies with brand guidelines, legal requirements and contractual agreements.
  • Monitor performance of social media content, track key metrics and provide insights and recommendations to improve results.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Ticketing, Corporate Partnerships and Community teams on a day-to-day basis. 
  • Ability to work Columbus Crew matches (until the Columbus NWSL team launches in 2028.)
  • Special projects or other duties as assigned.

Required skills, experience & abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, media or related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in social media, content creation or similar.
  • Experience capturing, editing and posting social media content.
  • Strong photography skills, including shooting and editing, especially for social media.
  • Experience capturing and editing short-form video content for social media platforms.
  • Excellent written communication skills and a strong sense of visual storytelling. 
  • Adobe Creative Suite and basic design and editing skills are preferred. 
  • Background in soccer preferred; strong interest in soccer, especially the NWSL, required. 
  • Experience within the Columbus market a plus, but not required.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude with keen eye for attention to detail.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Creative thinker with an ability to stay organized with multiple projects with various deadlines.
  • Must be a reliable, dependable, and positive team-player.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Able to work home matches and events.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and events.
  • Adaptability in role to meet the ever-evolving needs of the team in the lead-up-to the inaugural season. 


About Columbus NWSL 2028:
In April 2026, the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) announced that Columbus will be home to the 18th club in the top global women’s soccer league. The team will play home matches at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field when it officially debuts during the 2028 NWSL season. Columbus NWSL 2028 will train at their own dedicated world-class performance center.
