POSITION OVERVIEW:
A Prudential Center Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment at The Prudential Center by securing the premises, controlling access, conducting patrols, and responding to incidents. This position requires professionalism, alertness, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team during all hours of operation.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED, TO THE BELOW:
- Conduct routine and random patrols of the facilities
- Monitor CCTV, alarms, and access control systems
- Control access for employees, visitors, and vendors
- Respond to incidents, emergencies, and alarms
- Enforce facility rules, policies, and safety procedures
- Observe, report, and document suspicious or unsafe activity
- Complete detailed incident and shift reports
- Provide customer service while maintaining a visible security presence
- Coordinate with supervisors, law enforcement, and emergency responders
- Assist with evacuations, medical emergencies, and incident management
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid government-issued photo ID
- Ability to work all shifts, including overnight, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication and observation skills
- Ability to remain alert during extended shifts
- Ability to write clear and accurate reports
- Must possess a valid New Jersey SORA (Security Officer Registration Act) certification
- Must maintain SORA registration in good standing at all times
- Must complete all required annual refresher training as mandated by the New Jersey State Police
- Prior security, law enforcement, or military experience
- Experience in a 24-hour or high-traffic facility
- CPR, First Aid, or emergency response certification
- 1-2 years of Security Experience
- Experience using surveillance and access control systems
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
- Demonstrate integrity, discretion, and sound judgment
- Treat all individuals with respect while enforcing policies consistently
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- Day, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts required
- Rotating or fixed schedules as assigned
- Work may include indoor and outdoor patrols in all weather conditions
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Physically fit to perform the functions of a 24 Hr Security Guard
- Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations
COMPENSATION
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $17 and $19/hour. Hourly non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
This position will be an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
