SUMMER MBA INTERN, INSIGHTS – OVERVIEW:
Elevate is looking for up to two Summer MBA Interns to partner with our internal consulting team.  Individuals will focus on supporting projects for Elevate’s clients focused on enhancing fan experience and operational performance in sports and entertainment. You will support project objectives and help structure problems, conduct primary and secondary research, conduct business analyses, develop presentations, and support project implementation. This role will cover a range of services across our business, including hospitality design, partnership sales, partnership valuation, and brand representation.

This is an on-site position with our Insights team. The role may require the ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.  Candidates must be able to work on-site in one of our offices in Charlotte, NC, New York, NY or Santa Clara, CA.  (These Internships do not have relocation assistance available.) 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support ongoing engagements and projects focused on helping improve revenue streams and fan experiences for sports properties
  • Formulate and test hypothesis related to client projects or business methods using quantitative analysis and delivering insights that drive business impact
  • Develop and present fan insights and recommendations to internal team members and external stakeholders
  • Analyze complex, high-volume data sets to identify narrative trends and actionable insights 
  • Build high-quality visualizations that illustrate the stories underlying the data we collect 
  • Build financial models to inform clients and team’s pricing & packaging strategies, and revenue forecasting
  • Support survey development, execution, and report building, including content development and survey design
  • Support focus group sessions, including content development, fan coordination and segmentation, transcript analysis, etc.
  • Perform detailed sports, and entertainment industry research focused on (but not limited to) professional teams, live entertainment venues, college landscape, digital and social activation trends, partnership sales, and more. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Eligibility/Education/Experience
  • Must be enrolled in a full-time,  2-year MBA program and in-between first and second years of enrollment
  • Previous experience in the sports industry, management consulting, investment banking, and/or media/entertainment/tech is a plus but not required
  • Must be able to work on-site in Charlotte, NC or New York, NY or Santa Clara, CA
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities 
  • Strategic and critical thinker who is dynamic, proactive, and a problem-solver
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and public-speaking experience 
  • Ability to conduct rigorous data analysis resulting in high-quality models and presentations
  • Ability to develop frameworks and project management tools to guide project approach, timelines, reporting, and decision-making
  • Positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to be an outstanding team and encourage those around them
  • Ability to multi-task with concurrent projects and prioritize under the pressure of deadlines
  • Ability to conduct data analysis resulting in high-quality models and presentations
  • Intellectual curiosity, creativity, analytical approach, attention to detail, and results-driven
  • Power user of the MS Office suite, particularly Excel 
  • Power user of the Google Drive suite, particularly Google Slides & Google Sheets
Preferences 
  • Prior experience in an investment banking, consulting, or other analyst role is a plus
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) is a plus
  • Familiarity with surveying visualization tools (e.g., Qualtrics ) is a plus
  • Prior experience with Data warehouses, SQL, and/or Python is a plus
  • Prior experience using CRM systems (i.e., Salesforce, MS Dynamics) is a plus

This is a non-exempt, temporary position.  We are seeking candidates that can commit to a 12-week internship and work 40 hours a week.  Compensation for the Internship is up to $35.00/hr.
