SUMMER LEGAL INTERN – OVERVIEW:
Elevate is seeking up to two (2) rising second- or third-year law student(s) for a 2026 summer internship. The internship program is hybrid, 40 hours per week, based in Charlotte, NC with at least 3 days per week in Elevate’s Charlotte office. The purpose of Elevate’s Legal Internship program is to provide the intern with practical in-house legal experience in the sports and entertainment consulting industry. The Legal Intern will work under the supervision of Elevate’s legal team in a fast-paced environment and will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working on business and legal issues that directly impact the agency. 

 RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare, review, and negotiate various types of commercial agreements, including services agreements, statements of work, license agreements, vendor and supplier agreements, and non-disclosure agreements in support of Elevate’s business.
  • Prepare, update, and implement corporate and compliance policies, including with respect to data privacy, cyber security, international operations, anti-money laundering, diversity and inclusion and environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives, among other things. 
  • Assess legal and operational risks and provide guidance to the legal team regarding the company’s current and future planned operations. 
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations and monitor regulatory developments to ensure organizational adaptation and compliance. 
  • Conduct comprehensive research on a variety of legal issues and provide clear, concise advice and recommendations to the Elevate legal team.
  • Assist with any other projects, tasks, duties or initiatives as designated by the Elevate legal team.

A.       Education and/or Experience
  • Must be a current full-time law school student pursuing a J.D. at an accredited institution in good standing. 
  • Strong record of academic performance at both the undergraduate and law school levels. 
  • Strong or demonstrated interest in sports industry and related areas of law. 
B.       Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Great written and oral communication skills, with the ability to distill complex legal concepts and/or risks into easily understandable and actionable insights for the business. 
  • Strong legal research, writing, analysis and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-pace, rapidly evolving corporate environment. 
  • Effective time management and organizational skills necessary to thrive in a fast-paced environment while responding quickly and effectively to changing or evolving priorities.  
  • Relentless work ethic and attention to detail. 
  • Business-first, entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Team-first mentality.
  • Desire to learn new skills (both legal and non-legal) and tackle any task assigned by the Elevate legal team.   

COMPENSATION:
The hourly rate for this role is $25.00. This is the lowest to highest compensation we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Charlotte.  An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  1. Travel Requirements 
    • Travel will not be required in this position. 
  2. Physical Demands 
    • This position requires sitting for extended periods while using a computer or phone. 
  3. Work Environment 
    • This position will work primarily in an office environment, located in Elevate’s Charlotte, NC office, at least 3 days per week.  
    • The anticipated start date is ~May 18, 2026 and end date is ~August 7, 2026
