ROLE - OVERVIEW:Elevate is seeking a motivated and results-oriented individual to join our Innovation team as a Business Development Associate. This role will focus on driving new business opportunities for Elevate's proprietary consumer insights platform and consulting services within the sports, entertainment, and media industries. You will support the full sales cycle—from lead generation and prospecting to proposal development and client onboarding—while building relationships with potential clients and partners.
The ideal candidate has a passion for sales and business development, with experience selling consulting services, software solutions, or consumer insights products. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in business development within a dynamic, fast-paced industry.
The preference is for this position to be based in Elevate offices including Charlotte, New York, Santa Clara, and Nashville. The role will require the ability to travel, and work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify, research, and qualify new business opportunities within target markets including sports teams, leagues, entertainment properties, and consumer brands
- Support lead generation efforts through outbound prospecting, networking, industry events, and leveraging existing relationships
- Manage and maintain the sales pipeline using CRM tools, tracking prospect engagement and ensuring timely follow-up
- Develop compelling proposals, pitch decks, and sales materials that effectively communicate the value of Elevate's consumer insights platform and consulting services
- Coordinate and participate in sales presentations, product demonstrations, and client meetings alongside senior team members
- Build and nurture relationships with prospective clients, understanding their business challenges and aligning Elevate's solutions to their needs
- Collaborate with Strategy, Insights, and Marketing teams to develop go-to-market strategies and refine messaging for target audiences
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential threats in the sports consulting and consumer insights landscape
- Support contract negotiations and assist with client onboarding to ensure a seamless transition from prospect to active client
- Track and report on sales metrics, pipeline health, and business development activities to leadership
QUALIFICATIONS:

A. Education and/or Experience
- Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Economics, or related field
- Coordinator/Associate Level: One (1) to three (3) years of work experience in sales, business development, account management, or client-facing roles is required
- Experience selling consulting services, SaaS products, or consumer insights/research solutions is strongly preferred
- Previous sports industry experience is a plus, but not required
B. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets or business development goals
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage prospects and clients at all levels
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience creating proposals and delivering presentations
- Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple prospects and priorities simultaneously
- Experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) for pipeline management and reporting
- Proficiency in MS Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Google Drive suite (Slides, Sheets, Docs)
- Understanding of the sports and entertainment industry landscape, including key players, trends, and market dynamics
- Intellectual curiosity, competitive drive, and a passion for building relationships and closing deals
