We are seeking a motivated self-starter to join our team as the Account Executive, Group Sales for the Washington Spirit. This individual should excel at identifying new business prospects and demonstrate innovative thinking. They will be dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service across all aspects of their role and possess the drive to actively seek out new business opportunities. Strong communication skills are essential, along with the ability to foster robust relationships within the Washington, DC (DMV) community. Reporting to the Manager of Group Sales, this position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of the Washington Spirit.

  • Sells a full menu of the client's product offering, with a focus on the client's group outings and events. 
  • Meets or exceeds established sales effort and revenue goals, while exceeding group leader expectations in value and service. 
  • Develops authentic relationships with organizations to organize group outings through targeted outreach, networking, appointments, and sales events. 
  • Retains, renews, and grows group ticket and hospitality book of business each season. 
  • Collaborates effectively with other departments to enhance the overall group experience. 
  • Works assigned sales team events and games and outside normal business hours. 
  • Maintain accurate records in support of sales efforts as defined by the organization in CRM system. 
  • All other responsibilities as required.

A.  Education and/or Experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sports Management, Marketing or related field preferred. 
  • Minimum of 8 months related experience working in professional or collegiate sports preferred.  
  • Experience with Archtics & Ticketmaster ticket systems preferred. 
B. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities  
  • Highly proactive, goal oriented and motivated with a positive attitude.  
  • Very strong interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for providing great customer service. 
  • Coordinate changing priorities in a dynamic, high pressure, fast paced environment. 
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and creatively solve day-to-day challenges. 
  • Strong work ethic – must be a team player with a “get the job done” attitude. 
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Power Point, Word, Excel and Outlook. 
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including but not limited to evenings, weekends and holidays.

Travel Requirements

Physical Demands 
  • This position requires the ability to lift up to 10 pounds and move around event spaces during attendance at events

  • The incumbent primarily works in an office environment, however, is expected to attend all events
