Player Operations: Soccer - Coach
Head Men’s Soccer Coach
Responsibilities and duties are as follows:
  • Planning, development and administration of all phases of the Men’s Soccer program, including:
    • Preparation and management of the budget
    • Practice and competition scheduling
    • Travel arrangements and cost management
    • Procurement of supplies/equipment, recruitment and selection of student-athletes and managers
    • interaction with support services and involvement in appropriate public relations/fundraising and promotional activities
  • Candidate must be committed to a philosophy that emphasizes academic priorities for the student-athlete, and have the ability to understand how to guide, teach, and communicate with collegiate student-athletes -- must have comprehension of the demands placed on a Division I student-athlete -- both in the classroom and in the competitive arena -- and the willingness to help them succeed in both. 
  • Emphasis is placed on the commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of the University of California System, UCLA, Pacific-12 Conference and NCAA. 
  • Candidate must possess the ability to work compatibly and cooperatively with the staff and personnel in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and other University units. 

Required qualifications include: 
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, knowledge of NCAA Division I rules and a record of compliance in this area, fiscal management
  • Effective communication skills with student-athletes, administrators, peers and the general public
  • Ability to select, recruit and train men’s soccer athletes

Preferred qualifications include
  • Successful coaching experience at the Division I level, USSF Coaching License ‘B’ or higher.
