The ORANGE BOWL COMMITTEE Inc., (OBC), based in Miami Lakes, was created in 1935 with the mission of generating tourism for South Florida through an annual football game and supporting events. The OBC is seeking highly motivated candidates for its Community Outreach Internship Program.  The Orange Bowl Internship Program is available year-round.
LEARNING EXPERIENCE
Intern will learn and be exposed to:
  • Inner workings of a major non-profit sports and event organization
  • Exposure to the day-to-day administrative operations of a Community Outreach department
  • Learning the fundamentals and operational details to coordinate community programs and events
  • Gain knowledge with the collection, organization, and database storage of communication documents
  • Opportunity to participate with the scheduling and preparation of events such as the Orange Bowl Youth Football Alliance (OBYFA), Cheer & Dance Competition, Football Championships and NCAA Football Clinic
  • Acquiring a high-level understanding on the preparation and execution of the Orange Bowl Big Buddy, Orange Bowl Kicks for Kids and Park of the Week programs
  • Learn about marketing promotional efforts for the Creative Art Contest and other activities including Bowl week
  • Other opportunities as may be available
  • PREREQUISITES
  • Pursuing a degree and/or career in Community Outreach/Relations, Community Programs or Event Management
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Publisher and typing skills
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds
  •  Note:Preferred commitment of a minimum of 20 hours a week consistent with academic demands/schedule.
