Position Summary:

The Accountant, supporting the Global Touring division, is responsible for unique financial duties related to organizing and managing tours. This includes tasks such as reconciling accounts related to tour expenses and revenues, processing invoices specific to touring expenses, and processing artist settlements. The Accountant will work closely with our finance team to support day-to-day operations and gain valuable skills in financial analysis, reporting and compliance.

Essential Functions:

  • Facilitate the setup of new vendors, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Collect and compile all invoices pertaining to each assigned show, code to appropriate department and ensure data is entered correctly.
  • Processing of road checks, cash receipts, invoices, artist payments, wire requests and all other cash transactions.
  • Conducting thorough reviews of expense reports to verify accuracy, authenticity, and compliance with company policies, while assigning appropriate coding to each expense for accurate financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to ensure accurate documentation is prepared for settlements, reviewing and verifying supporting documents within settlement files pertaining to both revenue and expenses.
  • Thoroughly review artist contracts, carefully analyzing each clause and provision to gain a detailed understanding of terms and conditions and verify adherence to legal requirement.
  • Monitoring the accounts receivables and proactively communicating with clients to facilitate timely payments to minimize overdue balances.
  • Verify and synchronize data between the internal show system and JD Edwards accounting systems to uphold the accuracy of financial information.
  • Oversee the financial performance of a tour, including artist settlements, revenue audits, while ensuring the thorough validation of settlements to maintain correct reporting of overall profit.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned including: Ad-hoc projects, income statement, balance sheet, and generation of reports on request.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum education level of: Bachelor of Arts/Sciences Degree in Accounting
  • Years of related work experience: 2  
  • Experience with JDE, Image Now and Concur is preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices
  • Strong attention to detail is required
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems and discrepancies in financial systems
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Music industry experience is preferred

 

Pay scale: $22.49 - $29.53
