Job Title: Senior Ticket Sales Executive

Facility Info: Bristol Motor Speedway and Dragway is one of the preeminent motorsports and entertainment complexes in the world. In addition to hosting some of NASCAR’s and NHRA’s most-attended events each year, 2016 will see the installation of Colossus, the world’s largest outdoor center-hung video board. With a capacity in excess of 150,000, the facility is also expected to set a new NCAA college football attendance record on Sept. 10, 2016, when the racetrack transforms into a football stadium and plays host to border rivals, the University of Tennessee and Virginia Tech. Bristol Dragway boasts a capacity of 20,000 located in the bucolic setting better known as Thunder Valley. In 2015, the Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities, a 501©(3) nonprofit organization, awarded a record-breaking $805,900 to regional children’s charities bringing their 18-year total to nearly $10 million in grants. In existence since 1961, Bristol Motor Speedway and Dragway were purchased in 1996 by Speedway Motorsports, Inc. a publicly traded company that is a leading marketer and promoter of motorsports entertainment in the United States.

Description: BMS is accepting applications for the position of Senior Ticket Sales Executive. The successful candidate will be responsible for selling tickets for Bristol Motor Speedway and Dragway events, including but not limited to The Irwin Tools Night Race, Food City 500 and NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals. This person is expected to be a pacesetter as well as a team player. This position is a vital member of the ticketing department and the Speedway’s “Consumer Group” (ticketing, marketing, branding and communications).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Provide memorable, world-class customer service
Sell individual event, weekend and season tickets to Speedway & Dragway events
Make 75-100 outbound calls per day
Upsell inbound calls with Track Tours, VIP Hospitality options and other events/items
Work with management to set and monitor ticket sales, pricing and revenue goals
Industry tracking of ticket sales best practices
Develop new leads through database management, mobile marketing, prospecting & networking
Manage a wide-ranging customer portfolio
Assist with the development of consumer and brand marketing initiatives
Aide in the supervision of ticket sales at all BMS ticketed events
Participate in mobile marketing events at other sporting events and trade shows.
Train part-time and seasonal sales/customer service staff.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate field of study or equivalent experience in ticket sales
1-2 years of successful ticket sales experience
Experience with ticket software systems
Ability to work flexible hours (nights/weekends/events) when necessary
Team player with a do-whatever-it-takes attitude

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Sports Administration or Business Administration/Marketing
2+ years of successful ticket sales experience in NASCAR, professional sports or college athletics
Advanced knowledge of Ticketmaster/Archtics
Advanced knowledge a of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform
Creativity, entrepreneurial spirit, and willingness to learn

Compensation: Based on qualifications (Salary + Commission)
